However, I'm going to work on a tournament for March at UWO, going to see if I can land the same venue we had for FBT4.

For SSF4 there was more than 60+ entrants last tournament. There was more than 200+ people in attendance all together for a variety of fighters and shooters. And to be honest, we got those numbers with the same level of hype of the thread...in the tournament announcements. So DO NOT let that thread fool you! Not to mention, other recent tournaments "somewhat" stole the limelight: SBR, NEC, and Focus Fire...to name a few. But it's all good. We'd love to see you there and participate in a great event. ^_^

If you have any interest or questions whatsoever, please post in the tournament thread (linked above) and the GnG staff and/or myself will be more than happy to assist you.

I love playing for fun, playing dumb or doing stupid stuff is what I don't get. for example a suicide spike is hilarious, hitting TEAM MEMBERS is not.

There are literally 4-5 brawl players in WI, if you get 10 people to travel from IL + MN or even 15, you have a 20 person tourney.

Factor in travelling johns from people OOS, there might be only 15 people. You can do what you want, but I'm saying it would prob be best to focus on one. Your tourney though.

This is the type of the attitude as to why our state has no scene. I simply stated my opinion and you were a jerk about it. I've hosted over 10 tournies over my career and went to almost every Brawl tourney that was in this area. We had huge pot bonuses for a Circuit event in brawl and 40 people showed up. That's terrible for the type of money that was being offered. Secondly a lot of those brawl players that did come OOS vowed to not come to a WI hosted brawl tourney again, so all those that came from that tourney prob won't show up.

I was referencing your post about LURKING MORE when i brought up hosting a tourney. If you're going to be rude, at least be specific and say LURK MORE FOR BRAWL. You have yet to answer my question about active brawl players in WI.

I was politely giving you advice as to why I thought it was a good idea to have a Melee only tourney. I wasn't rude about it, and I simply was stating my OPINION. You can do what you want, I'm not going to protest you hosting a tourney, but when someone whose has a lot of epxierience hosting tournies, and has been in the community a lot longer than you have gives advice, whether you take it or not. TRY to come across in the right way and be polite about it..

And I'll just go back to lurking then, cause I guess I only attend local tournies and have done nothing for the community.

You need those Brawl tourneys. Not only to keep whatever scene is alive, but to try to get others there that you do not know about yet. Not hosting it would keep brawl dead.

Also I don't see any harm in having Brawl with Melee even if it would be smaller in WI, maybe I dunno about maybe WI smashers since I go to IL a lot more.

John, I think it may be mine. Sanchaz borrowed a black controller from me for RoW, and I don't think he gave it back to me, although he said he did. If the control stick has kinda messed up rings, then it's mine. I believe it also has a mild tear in the control stick.

I never said LOL tho. I just said don't get offended by this but.... I apologize if that offended anyone.

The whole point I'm trying to make is, that if you host a Brawl/Melee tourney, better run it well, other wise you're going to have people who are going to complain. It's much easier to run one type of tourney instead of both, and I said host melee because in WI, it has a much bigger scene than brawl. I might have "no idea about the brawl scene" but I sure always see people joke about how Red Ryu and sponge jordan and yoshq are the only ones that play the game here.

I asked several times for wafles to name me all the active brawl smashers in WI, and everytime he NEVER said anything. If he knows so much about the community he plays in, this shouldn't be a problem.

Again, If you host this and pull it off good for you, I'm not trying to derail you from hosting a tourney, I hope it goes well. But for the past 4 months, Im tired of hearing WI players, both Melee and Brawl players, talk about how they are going to HOST A TOURNEY, and other than myself and The MAS tournies, nothing has happened. ( I know steve is planning on one too, so if we could get one in march and one in April that would be awesome)

So I'm simply saying step it up Wisconsin and lets get both of these communities going.
