why do YOU play Sonic?

just curious I guess, I wanted to know what makes you guys want to play sonic seeing as he isn't exactly the best character evar.

I play him because I have a love for the sonic franchise and when he was announced for brawl I had to use him. I also like playing him because it's a real challenge and it feels so cool when he works just right and you can beat really good players with him.

so, why do YOU play sonic, sonic boards?

Sonic may be bad, but he has some very useful strengths:
-His spring allows him to escape many combos that would be successful on characters... see MK shuttle loop... falco chain grab-> stage spikes.
-His recovery is one of the best, you shouldn't get gimped like ever unless you're being exceptionally predictable.
Ground speed/spin shot
-punishes careless attacks of any kind
-makes camping difficult
-can use Diddy's nanners against him (if the Sonic is good enough with them)... also has probably a better glide toss than Diddy.
-Planking is probably a joke for Sonic since he can stage spike so quickly (never actually had to deal with a planker myself)
-One of the best throw/pummel games of any character (due to his speed)... while we're on throws I believe he has some of the most damaging throws.

I like the fact that a player can't just pick up Sonic and be awesome with him. I really got my wish... probably too much in that Sonic is only as good as the player controlling him.

I play Sonic cause I've been a fanboy since forever and I've always loved the fast but weak concept for characters. I play Chipp in GGAC and I had a fury warrior in WoW. o:

i play sonic because i was a fanboy ever since i got the first game and ran through that hoop on Green Hill Zone. And because of side taunt...its the speed factor, and the mindgames I use to confuse the opponent. I can deal with the low ko power, its not much of a problem.

I play sonic because when i started playing brawl i asked myself... "who would jesus play?".

You would think that jesus would play pit.... the thing is pit is too high on the tier list, and god is into that whole "turn the other cheek thing".... and sonic is like.. one of the best characters for getting your ars kicked. Plus jesus hates spammers.

I originally mained Sonic because, aside from Kirby, Sonic's my favorite video game character. But later, when everyone realized he's crap in the hands of most players, I decide that he's my new Kirby. (I was a good Kirby main in Melee) That gave me the drive to become a good Sonic.

I play Sonic because he's one of my favorite video game characters. That's why I play Link regardless. I also enjoy his play style. Being fast, having a great recovery etc. It was a breath of fresh air from maining like from melee.
