This is the first time in quite a while that Melee has seen any sponsorship money. If the game is to prosper at all, it needs it. How do we keep getting sponsorship money? We tell those sponsors that their money is well worth it. We tell them that people are watching the product, that people are going to buy their product.
To Dogy and Prog: keep shouting out the sponsors. Right now you guys are the face of the community, and so far so good. I'll be honest, I heard Dogy say something along the lines of "I hate doing this" when it came sponsor time and I almost drove to NJ to slap him, but he pulled it out in the sponsor memorization challenge so I forgive him.
To the Community: send the sponsors messages on Twitter or via Email. Buy 20 Izzes and take a picture swimming in a bathtub of them and send it to their HQ. Thank them for sponsoring eSports and thank them for sponsoring Melee.
But back on the topic of this thread, viewers. Watch the Brawl stream. Melee benefits from Brawl's success just as they benefit from our own. Even if you don't watch it, just leave it on in the background while you are AFK or doing something else. I'm going to work in an hour and I'm leaving it on all day.
This is nothing formal, but you guys need to understand that this may be your one and only chance to even get Melee on sponsor's radar. Use it.
