I've noticed this for a while now. Every time I lose a match in Smash, I turn into a completely different person. It's not even everything I lose at, it's just Smash. For some reason I just cannot take a loss in this game at all. When I win, I feel like the most amazing person on the planet. When I lose, I feel like someone kicked me in the chest and put my face in dirt lol.

I think I'm just self-conscious. I don't know.

It's called being competitive.

No one likes losing, some just learn to deal with it better then others.

I have the same problem. I can't take a loss either, even though it's only a friendly. I feel your pain. If someone starts pwning me non-stop, regardless of if it's a friendly or not, I may just end the match, leave a nasty swear like this one that I left yesterday: "I F******* SUCK AHH" and then I left.

I used to hate losing when I was small. Yeah, I know most kids exhibit "sore losing" to an extent, but I think I felt the effects more than usual.
Now, though, I still don't like losing, but I can kinda control it better now.

I would say, don't worry about taking losing so seriously, if it's part of your personality, accept that you like to win. Like Hylian said, some people are geared toward that winning edge; although not always true, I think most people who excel in their field possess this trait.

I'm not really a bad loser, except when I feel I should've won. It's almost always my fault that I lose, but I always get really angry if I'm not playing well AT ALL or I make a bunch of stupid mistakes.

Last tourney I almost spiked my controller I was so pissed.

I mean, I know I'm competitive. :x That's why I try to get better all the time to avoid losing. I don't mind losing if I lose to someone amazing, like if I played Ally or something. If I lose to someone just doing stupid ****, then I get pissed.

might be that you are self conscious when it comes to games, who knows, I bet though that you figure why should you lose to someone you know you can beat? maybe tehy played super gay like and won because of it, that always pisses me off.

.....Brother.....?

I have that same exact problem. I don't exactly get pissed that I lose, I get pissed when I lose, and I know I should've won.

It's because you are a Winrar Karina.
When you are a Winrar you cannot take being a loser.

It's because you're not just playing Smash for ****s and giggles, you put time and effort into it as a competitive game, and so you feel like crap when all of that seems to have been fruitless.

I'm pretty much the opposite. I feel zero emotion towards the game, win or lose. I do okay in tournament, but a bit of emotional motivation could probably help me improve. For Kawaii, just try channel the anger into motivation/focus and remain respectful of your opponent.

I've got the same problem (ever since a month ago, wtf?).
And I've got to say, I've tried Maining Link. And it just pissed me off even more =T.

You have pride from the sounds of it. You take pride in one of the things you obviously are quite skilled at. Everytime you lose its like being told that you aren't as good as you think you are, its ok 90% of competitive smashers are like this. Just don't put pressure on yourself to win so much (which is why you make dumb mistakes probably) and keep relaxed and you should find you don't have much to be down about.

Because you feel that all your efforts have gone to waste, even when they haven't. People are supposed to lose a few or some times, because it only strengthens your prowess as far as learning what you need to work on.

I love to win, but when I lose, I laugh my ****ing *** off.

I'm a bit different in games:

When I lose, I feel like didn't do things correctly or promptly when I had the chance, I feel ashamed. When I win, things feel normal, order is restored/maintained!

I suffer from this problem, except it's gotten so bad to the point where I'm just growing complacent with losing, as if it's what's supposed to happen.

Heck, I've never known what WINNING feels like.

A friend of mine gets bothered that I'm SDing most of the match every match. I don't get it. If his objective is to win, and he's winning, why care? That's all playing to win is about, right?

Yeah, It is more like I am mad at myself for not winning. Perfectionism.

@NintendoMan-Maybe he is trying to have fun, you should try sometime. He is only playing to win if enjoys beating you and doesn't help you to get better. You think to hard buddy.

This is one of the reasons why I never played Bunny that much when I had a Wii. Because she gets so sad if I win and it depresses ME, and I'M supposed to be the nonchalant bimbo.

I feel the same way (sometimes, not all the time). It's really dissapointing to us because I think we expect so much of ourselves once we learn a new AT or a really good move. And if we lose with that move, we feel really disapointed and feel as we shouldn't have lost that match. That's how I feel anyway.
