Did you see the Alejandro video? Based on the lyrics, the video had some potential as a nice sad story, but then it just became some random crap.

Back on topic, I main Ness and Yoshi, unless I really want to win in which case I use Pikachu.
I had not seen the video before you mentioned it in this thread. I went to youtube to watch it, expecting to see a crew of homosexual gigalos dressed like b movie porn stars dancing in sync to an overly hyped singer of questionable sexual origin in an equally hideous and ridiculous getup.

Needless to say, I was not disappointed.

On the relevant topic, I heard that players of fighting games from Asian countries are more likely to focus on one single character seriously as a "main" and North American fighters are more likely to play multiple "mains". What say you, Asians?

I, as a North American, play Ness the best but can also play Yoshi, Cfal, and of course Pikachu at a somewhat competitive level.

I don't. Well, I'm half Asian, so maybe I don't count... but I'm pretty sure I got my gaming skillz/preferences from my Asian side (wut).

ummm, in asia itself there are tendencies to play only 1 character and 1 character only when talking about tournaments. Applies to tekken, sf4, smash, starcraft its whatevs. That doesnt mean we are not good with everyone but probably more of isolated a character and getting imba with them. On the other hand...i play alot of different characters in every game l33t sniff

I blame Videoclip industry. Besides Lady Gaga being a sl*t, its a fact that 75-80% of music videclips suck, while the song may be great.

Jake is definitely dropping Yoshi
I'll update my thing.

ONLINE:

Best: Jigglypuff

Favourite to use: everyone (I go selective random, and end up using everyone).

Most comfortable with: Jigglypuff

Most often used: Jigglypuff (though CFalcon, Luigi, Samus, Ness, Yoshi, and Link are also very high up there, and the rest of the cast right behind).

CONSOLE:

Best: I honestly don't know anymore... toss-up between Jigglypuff, Falcon, and Kirby.

Favourite to use: Falcon.

Most comfortable with: Falcon

Most often used: Falcon, but for most of my console matches, I ask my opponents who they want to play against, so it depends on that. I often do Falcon dittos or Falcon free-for-alls, but I do play as Puff vs a Pikachu very often.

Hmmm... Given that definition, I really can't choose between Weegee and Falcon. I guess you can stick me in the weegee bracket for now.

Weegee is virtually the only character I play on console; the switch from keyboard to controller makes all of my other chars laughably bad.

My main in Super Smash Bros. has always been Link. That's carried on over to Melee and Brawl ever since.

I also enjoy using Fox and Mario. I'm pretty confortable using Kirby too.

all my main characters are just the ones i find the most fun to play, so i practice with them the most.

Pikachu

Like Mahie and others I can also play everyone fairly well, or at least "well" to a certain extent.

Except Yoshi. Never took the time to learn me an even semi-good Yoshi.

Kirby is considered by a lot of people as the cheapest character of the game mainly because of incredibly large hitboxes (utilt, dtilt).

However I personnaly find pika way cheaper. (tail = O_o)

Maybe his reputation comes from the fact that his cheap moves are easy to use (utilts chain, utilts to fsmash= shieldbreak, etc...) so a kirby noob might be annoying.

Hope I answered your question.

Please, let that deter you from using the character.

Just to clarify, I realize that there's no such thing as cheap. If you want to play kirby, please do. That comment was nine parts joke and one part understandable SOMK syndrome

there should just be a main everybody category

Online
Samus, Yoshi, Falcon

Console
I dunno...Falcon?

Switching from kb to controller sucks, but you can clearly see why using a controller is sooo much better

Why is it sooo much better? I mean, it has its advantages, but you have to weigh them against hax DI and all that. "better" I could understand, maybe even "so much better". But three "o"s? Really? You're gonna have to back that up.
