I hate most of the stages. I hate a lot of things. ^^

What I'd really like to see for Brawl is stages where the characters aren't giants. It ruined the atmosphere so much it makes me want to cry. But that's a different topic.

I voted Princess Peach's castle because it's CRAZY, without being unfair. The bumper was fun, the moving platform was fun... well, I guess it's not exactly tournament stuff, but still!

Hyrule Castle because I liked the size and the overall structure. Not sure why everyone else likes it so much, though.

Temple doesn't get enough love.
Sure, it's not viable for tournaments, but beating people around the Cave of Eternal Life is just fun, and it has so many different structures that can be used strategically, it's wonderful.
.... too bad it's also a true pain to fight Zelda in Single-Player Mode here. Keeps hitting you with weak attacks and won't die herself, then randomly runs away to throw down a Pokeball some miles away, about 3 times per match... *shudders*

Fountain of Dreams was just pretty. Period.

And Final Destination. Although a graphical upgrade would be sweet.

I would think Princess Peach's Castle stage would be tournament legal. If it isn't, can someone tell me why. I love that stage.

I feel like slapping the people who voted for Icicle Mountain and Flat Zone xD

FD will definitely get a remake, BF and PS are both confirmed, but I felt like including all of the stages for completeness.

OMG. *AGREES*
Peach's castle. You can't fit in it =[.
I know it was made that way for stage dynamics, but look at Fourside! Ness takes up 3 rooms!!
PICHU wouldn't be able to fit into the great fox's cockpit!!!

Marth's Fire Emblem castle looks good though, well proportioned.

However, I just don't think the Great Fox will return to it's original size from SSB64.

definetly want to see Brinstar, Hyrule Temple, Saffron City and The Battlefield & I can assure you that Final Destination will be guaranteed to be in Brawl, maybe at least with a different look, but mostly the same type of stage

I didn't vote for very many stages. I don't think a lot of them should return.

The stages need to be new and creative, and if they recycle too many, it will tke a lot of value away from the game. New stages would be fresh and fun, besides, the ones we've seen so far look great to me.

I only voted for three, and here's why:

I voted for Dreamland (64), and Peach's Castle and Onett from Melee. These are probably the ones I'd want to see not remade, but rather as strict ports and "Past Stages".

I could've included a lot more, but some (like Corneria, Pokemon Stadium, Hyrule Castle, Brinstar, Yoshi's Story, Mushroom Kingdom (8-bit), Mute City, etc.) will probably be faithfully rebuilt as entirely new stages with the same general theme and/or concept, and would be redundant to include as Past Stages (such as Sector Z and Saffron City in Melee, held extreme similarities with Corneria and Fourside).

So... yar. Those are the three I'd like to see as "Past Stages".

Ness is too big for the doorway in Onet. I agree, stages with proper proportions would be nice.

And whoever it was that was asking about my avatar, someone was changing it around.

I don't know... Fourside wouldn't be fun if you were only on top of one building. And Mute City would be no good if the cars were 2-3 times bigger than you. If the Great Fox were properly proportioned, it would be like 5 times bigger, and that's not feasable for a stage.

In some instances, proper proportions works, like Mushroom Kingdom 1. But most of the time, if the proportions would be exact, you'd end up with HUGE stages.

It actually would be cool if they all returned, just for nostalgia and online purposes.

Hm... I'm surprised by Temple's popularity.

Anyway, my favorite stages are Kirby's Dreamland 64, Hyrule Castle, Mute City, and Stadium.

I voted for one stage and one stage only. The best stage from both games, Kongo Jungle 64. If Metal Mario 64 stage was up there though, I would have two.

People like big stages. Also, I think it has the best music in the game (the Temple theme and that piece from Fire Emblem).

I agree partially, but it's almost too bad that a neat stage can quickly turn into a bad stage. Even if you want to play the stage like any other, you're forced into cheap tactics because...well, everyone else going to do it! A couple of examples...

Flatzone is almost always a race to see who can throw each other into one of the sides first.

Great Bay was an AWESOME stage in design, but several really bad circumstances present themselves: The left wall is far too close. The obvious insta-death for many characters who get thrown into the bottom of the big platform. The ease in which one can find oneself under the level and get stuck under one of the floating platforms while trying to recover.

Coneria and the tail flap on the right. Need I say more?

Kongo Jungle and that stupid rock on the right side...

It'd be nice if they could fix stages like those in some way.

Icicle Mountain...Well, that really was a pretty dumb stage all the way around.

I liked Hyrule from the first game. Tornadoes were fun because you could throw people towards them.

Also, the castle from the original was neat.

Off topic, but they should bring the bumper back. That was a neat item.

I agree and disagree with some. I guess that person doesn't like moving stages. I thought Big Blue was great.
Ah, the tragedy of life. Kirbykid *adores* Big Blue and the uniqueness of moving stages. The problem is, what makes the stages fun and unique also makes them unplayable in many situations.

Some "balanced" moving stages are Mute City and Rainbow Cruise, but alas, even those are hated and heavily slanted towards certain characters.

Well actually Big Blue is a very playable stage, especially in FFAs. You just have to jump from car to car without bothering about your opponents while they all die from SDing.

Very good point, maybe via downloadable content. I know you all hate paying extra (as do I), but Nintendo could pull a Gears of War downloadable content move (where after a few months the downloadable content is free). I'd love that idea anyways, itwould make online and tournament play all the better.

Anyways, I pretty much play and love all the SSB64 stages, and they were all near perfect in terms of size (except Sector Z=a bit too big, but other than that it's good). The problem I had with Melee is some of the stageswere too small. MK II, MK, and stages like Brinstar Depths generally make fighting harder than it needs to be.

I personally love all the moving stages, unless Brinstar Depths is considered moving (even Icicle Mountain haters!). Courses like Big Blue and Poke' Floats can actually change the way you battle on them completely, thus we get very original stages. The uniqueness of these stages are great, adding to the fun of the game. Still lol'ing that noone got mad at me because I only named the 7 or so courses I don't want to return=shows how unpopular they are. :chuckle:

Side Note: I don't know how, but El HP your sig looks even cooler than before. Definitely one of the better ones I've seen=awsome! ;) :)

there are ones I didn't vote for, because some stages are practically identical to the others.

...I actually forgot which ones I didn't vote for, actually. Pretty stupid of me. :p

For some reason, Icicle Mountain seems to have gotten the least amount of votes. Why is that?

I had to write down the ones I don't like just so I could remember which ones I don't like while writing my post on it! :chuckle: I forgot within 5 minutes, so I had to check back to my post on it, lol! Now that is stupid, or just plain forgetfulness!

Icicle Mountain got the least votes because of it's unpredictableness, and you can't stop at all, ever. It's challenging, fighting at skillful levels on that stage, but I voted for it, or at least I think. *looks at paper* Yep, I voted for it. :p

I voted all of them, because when I found out about classic stages in brawl and all those stages weren't there I got angry, and pie is bad and cake is good

Seriously, if every stage returned I would be extremely happy. Heck, all we need is the 13 or so stages in the trailers, plus the current 35, and we got 48 friggen insanely awsome stages! Hopefully after Brawl's release the good ones that didn't make it will be downloadable content or something. O, and pie and cake are good, but only some cakes (I hate most cake for some reason). But pie pwns cake, peacan+cherry pie ftw! :lick: :)
