What matchup embodies the essence of melee?

fox vs marth feels like the gameplay embodies the essence of this game the most

but falco vs marth is more epic
fox vs falco is also good

Ka Master (Luigi) vs Hugs (Samus)

To this day, stands as one of the best sets in the history of this game. Not only from an entertaining point, but in terms of intelligence in the game, flexibility of characters and adaptation of players.

Anyone who says samus luigi is any LESS legit than any other match up in the game, is naive.

Falco/Fox vs Marth/Shiek is the embodiment of classic and general melee. Too good and too much to have anything else on the list.

This is definitely a favorite of mine. That set was just too clean.

Overall I'd say Fox v Falco or Spacies v Marth
