it's not a good mixup because it's easily avoidable. that's like saying fully charging a smash on an opponent's full shield is a good mixup since they might drop their shield
Actually a lot of people do this. Sometimes just to weaken their opponents shield.

Works pretty well by the ledge since they will get knocked of onto the ledge and cant punish wario.

What on earth is wrong with Wario's Air-Release animation?

IMO the stupid programmer made it last for too long, too close from the grab origin and way too near from the ground.

Even CPUs can abuse from it.

then why can marth air release to fair MK and GnW but not others?
I could be wrong but I don't think Marth can fair G&W but I'm not too sure I forgot his different GR options and can't remember whether or not that's guaranteed or not.

Anyways I'm pretty sure there's a limit of the characters Marth can Air release and they each travel different distances. That's like saying how come Marth can regrab Squirttle from an Air release but not mK....

When I play Wario I know that I'm supposed to be really vulturish and peck at things or take opportunities that I know I can punish but how do you guys deal with camping pressure when you're already down in percentage and you really can't find opportunities to approach?

I think it varies with characters but try to look at read your opponents patterns. Then get in on them. Also one of the best ways to come back from when down is to land a waft.

Hey guys, I'm having trouble understanding what Wario's best momentum cancel aerial is (horizontally and vertically). When I watch videos I see most Warios using fair, but since dair lasts just as long (they're both 37 frames long), can that be used too? Because I suck at fair'ing after getting hit and dair is just easier for me.

Another thing that's bothering me is this thread on momentum canceling: http://allisbrawl.com/blogpost.aspx?id=4377 . If you scroll to around the bottom of the analysis where it talks about airdodging, it says that airdodging is Warios best way to momentum cancel horizontally due to his airdodge being usable before his aerials are (see the list in the thread). I have never heard this, is this correct?

I do know that when you Down Air, you tend to make yourself go downward which isn't exactly what you want if the attack his hitting you horizontally. I suppose vertically, it would work out the same as F-Air but I wouldn't do it horizontally.

I don't know too much of the technical data but I do know that I am very good at surviving and unless I'm hit with a powerful attack head on, I usually live to around 165~170 percent. I personally use D-Air to momentum cancel vertical attacks and F-Air for horizontal attacks. Occasionally, I will use Air Dodge for either but I haven't noticed a difference.

Thanks a bunch Excellence, that really helps. :)

Edit: Wait, toobusytocare, so airdodging really is the best option? I've always been told the opposite for so long now. And I practically never see pro Warios (or other characters) airdodge. I feel like there's too much contradicting information around here. :(

I can't believe everything I thought about momentum canceling was wrong!

I've found that using the bike sometimes doesn't work because it takes too long for Wario to bring it out and get on. There have been times where I've passed the blastzone while getting the bike out and thus died, whereas jumping may have saved me in time. But I may be wrong; I am not very experienced after all.

Edit @ leatherhead93: I do uair by accident all the time with Wario went I get sent flying, and from my experience it hasn't worked too well. :/ But what do I know?

Your advice sucks. "Learn the spacing on his attacks and learn to ledge guard." Wtf kind of help is that? Pretty crappy. I know the range on ROB's attacks but apparently they out range everything that I can do and just bring me back to square one. It's not like I can get to ROB when he hides under a platform and spams keep away moves.

Anyone know useful things?

What is he doing that you're having trouble with?
Hiding under platforms and knocking everything away with tilts. He doesn't use the top unless I'm off stage and he's far away and only uses laser from a distance for safty.

Lool, telling someone their advice sucks and then asking for more. GG bud. Try uh, not sucking.
Don't be a lame *****, man. And I didn't ask him specifically more advice did I? Of course not. And I don't see any advice in your post directed toward me so why the hell are you speaking to me?

You posted on a public forum. That's why the hell I'm speaking to you.

Also, didn't I tell you not to suck? Sounds like advice to me.

Don't let him get the lead. Strike BF and then ban it if you have to. just walk up and shield his tilts. You also have to bait him if you know that he's trying to space with tilts. Bait them then punish them.

uhh it only seems to work if you have enough time to pull the bike out fully and by then you would be able to just do a regular momentum cancel <_<

ive seen it CAUSE death so many times andf never seen it save once

Is the marth matchup consider 60-40 marth. I thought it was 55-45. When did it change. **** that's as bad as mk.
Marth has always been the worst possible matchup for wario IMHO. He can wall us, he can GR us. he can even beat us in the air. its rough. Scott I can definetly help you with this matchup saturday if you want.

How to beat ROB? I can't approach without getting ****ed up.
Okay, ROB is hard, really hard to learn how to fight. Basically if you play wario for a certain amount of time you depend on Down air to be your be all end all attack. Thats why most Newer wario players have trouble with rob, hes downsmash and sheild options vs our down air is diffrent than most characters and can really cause trouble. So basically its more about what you do here than what the rob is doing, at first anyway. You want to jump in and shield, a lot. then Nair OOS when down smashes, be sure to tilt your shield downward. also, when rob is in the air, seize the oppurtunity and get under him, his down air is sooo telegraph is rediculous. Uair juggle him as long as you can and watch out for his Nair, its a little trickier than Dair but still slow, fast fall back to the stage and reset the above process if needed. Also, Waft is amazing vs rob, he can be hard to kill otherwise if you Uair gets mad deteriorated. When hes up b'ing, as masky said, its best if learn his up B pattern and ledge guard him or maybe even waft him, thats the way i usually kill ROB's. if you wanna talk more in depth on this match up i could get stingers in here or you could just message me on aim. :p

i think marth is even

once you get in vs marth its over for him.

also you kill him at like 70% with wafts which are easy to land on him, also wario can actually gimp marth
