You don't really have poor habits, but those with more experience have an advantage in reading you, so find new ways to get in kills.

Pick up more 'bad' characters, that'll make you better since it's tough.

Accelerate learning by doing the above and learning the full set of character matchups properly. Jumping straight in with Marth/Sheik has been done to death and the majority know what to expect and how to get around it unless you have a superior edge.

Characters the Melbourne Melee crew generally aren't exp'd in vs-ing:
Ganon, Samus, Link, Y Link, Pikachu, etc

Earl: I endorse what Cao said very much. I find Jei's yoshi enormously hard to beat simply because I have no idea of the character matchup (oh and his yoshi is teh **** <3). Unused characters present challenging matches for even good players, especially if you play creatively. Take Cao's ness for example.... it's better than my peach.... and its a frikin ness... play Ganon IMO, I've just picked him up and he is S tier all the way :D

vs falco, it feels like once you start a combo i lose a stock most times. i know im missing techs which i need to work on but is there any way i can DI better?

Shffl-uair is best without platforms for combos; for platforms it's best used for platform pressure but you can still just wait it out.

Stuff Ken does -- work on crouch-cancelling EVERYTHING into a f-smash (which at many %'s against many characters is a free tipper).

With these cheap N2C meets, I think it'll be more popular on a Friday night, on a weekly basis.

I'm a 64 smasher but I don't mind a little Melee now and then (although I'm terrible at it).

I don't believe I've seen you here; welcome! If you bring a SSB64 setup to N2C in future, there would be some players that would be more than happy to pick it up -- i'm terribad at 64 so it goes both ways.
