since the idea of disabling tripping is being discussed in the dgh thread, let's discuss the melee side of this sort of idea here.
should we disable the yoshi's story fly guys? randall? pokemon stadium transformations? the wind on dreamland 64? consoles wouldn't be an issue, we have at least 3 capable (myself, timic, redact), so what do you think should be disabled, if anything?

I think we should turn off both Fire and Rock Transformations on PS.

The PS games I played where those transformations came up involved at lot of camping and waiting for the stage to turn back to normal.

Mehzorz, why I can't I talk clearly?

Joyous almost beat me at melee, I think he got a bad bracket.

He is definitely better than Tak. Joyous for PR +1
I also agree with him, Poke transformations suck, they're worse in Melee than in Brawl (Brawls already a camp fest, it just makes it more interesting when they transform)

But we should play it how it was made to be played!

but seriously, i wouldn't care if any of those things were disabled or not. it doesn't particularly change anything.

I remember watching a match where m2k camped randall for a tipper fsmash against amsah on yoshi's using the timer - keep the creative elements in I think.

Also the lag from hitting a shyguy can aid in other characters recoveries or escaping combo's / chain grabs dont mess wid it!

I'm a noobie to the competitive scene, so definitely looking to get some experience.

That literally the other side of the world. What was wrong with the hive?

not speaking on behalf of couch warriors here, but the hive was too small

So it seems like Redact as quietly stepped down as the main TO, or have I missed a critical post? Also, Jei are you taking over the reigns now?

I don't think there was a post about Redact stepping down...

Yeah it appears that I will be taking over as head Smash TO and we will still be running with CW however I'm not really keen to be affiliated with CW further than just running tournaments on the day.
I'll leave that stuff to Dekar if he wants it.

redact didn't quietly step down so much as he cut off all contact with couch warriors.
after he refused to contact cw and/or jei to arrange for someone else to take over, i stepped in to save the scene oh my god i'm awesome

i for one welcome our new jei overlord

new venue info after insepection on saturday

Oh I should probably mention that the TVs at the Hive need to be picked up within the next week or they will be thrown out.
I was going to ask Redact if he could arrange something seeing as though he lives the closest but I wasn't aware that he has cut all contact from CW.

Is there anyone that can pick up the TVs and store them until the first 2012 tournament? I hear the venue will store our TVs there...

i agree with robsta, will take me like 10minutes instead of an hour.

Id also be happy to help setup/run things at the venue :)

-To all the people saying that moonee ponds is too far, some of us had to drive an hour to get to the hive, now its your turn :)

I can bring two tvs that way and help setup/packup without being restricted by time
