I have a cro wing that'll do the job... the tri-wing is too small (false advertising but I got something that works for like 2bux so I can't complain). I've disassembled all of the controller except for the parts that require welding. Taking out the springs should be pretty easy.

...That's some commotion right there. Best I stay out of this one, especially since I wasn't even at the tourney.

All this commotion makes me wanna host a tourney in Utica, but I'm waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too young and should be able to actually attend tournies first beofre I even think of such a thought. Still, it'd be a nice thought to have for years ahead. :p
...wow this is actually more possible than I thought.

I know that Utica is on the thruway, so it'd be a convenient location, and I know this legit venue, it's huge. It's very roomy, and bigger than both of the Syracuse venues, at least.

Is anyone interested in this? Possibilities are:

Brawl Singles (With Pools)
Brawl Singles and Doubles
Brawl Singles and Melee Singles

Not sure if I could get more than one day, and I don't know much about hosting, but I'd probably try to get a $5 Venue Fee and $5 Entry Fee.

Time range: Would either be in between SS3 and APEX, or after APEX. (I'd try to keep it cheap because I know that APEX is damage to your wallets).

Not to mention that cura, bry, and MAAAAAAYYYYBE myself would help you run it. Its not like you have to do it all on your own.

That's cool guys, thanks.

There's no guaruntee, but my dad actually doesn't mind the idea of running a tourney, as it'd be a way of teaching me responsibility. I'm not sure which way I should run it, or even if I could get more than a day for the thing.

It's just that the opportunity's there, why not give it a go?

1. I dont know if I would want to stay in utica overnight (no offence) so a one day event would probably be best.

2. If you are trying to run an event during the summer, there might not be enough entrants to even make it a multiple day event. Since as far as rochester goes, a lot of our regular players are college kids, who will be going back to their respective homes at the end of the school year.

In that case I might wanna make it brawl only. (People could probably have a smashfest the day before at Cura's too, since Syracuse is only 1 hour away).

I really have no idea which date it could be. I mean... I could make it early June, all the way to late August. The good thing about Utica is it's close to Albany too, so maybe if Albany has its tourney first more players would show. The downside to having it in June would be... that people would be taking exams. Right now my mind is thinking late August, personally.

P.S.: My dad is pretty good with running organizations. He's done a few with sports, and this may be not much different. He may be a huge help to me with the venue, and advertising and all. This means: More scrubs might come, and a bigger pot would be available.

If we have the time, maybe Brawl Singles only with Pools would be best. Great seeding, and players get their playthrough.

I bet you did that on purpose xD

Sounds like a great time. I love camping. Except when it involves bugs. I hate bugs!

Who the heck is taking tests in june, what happened to summer vacation?

its whatever you want to do but I can tell you that with the right amount of drive and assertion you can do a brawl and melee 1s and 2s tourney, all in one day.

It just depends on what you wanna do. feel free to hit any of us on aim.

My 2 cents:

Definitely host a tourney if you can! If you can get a venue, people will come.

Pick a date that works for you, the other TO's in upstate can work around your date.

I would LOVE to attend a Utica tourney. That's only a 1.5 hour drive for me, it'd be by far the shortest drive to an event I've ever had.

We don't get outta school until like the third week of June.

Something in my inner being is urging to drop Dubz, and just do Singles. Melee will probably mostly be out-of-city players if I decide to include Melee, it'd definately have a small turnout.

I wanna do pools for Brawl sooooo badly. I wanna try out the Alpha Zealot theorem. There's gonna be a lot of scrubs, and I wanna make sure they get to play a lot of matches. How's this sound:

Brawl Singles (With Pools)
Melee Singles (Without Pools)

I'm not sure if that many people in my city would actually be interested in dubz, and I think I'd rather have Brawl & Melee than dubz, just for time constraints.

If you are having Pools for brawl might as well have it for melee.

I doubt we will have that big of a tournament though.

If anything, next tournament at jesses should be round robin.

Sharky how far are you in SS?

You guys are ridiculous.

Yesterday was fun. I was pretty bummed that I forgot about earth hour though. Go figure.

Then again, I don't thin Rochester wouldve been okay with driving for an hour and then sitting in the dark for an hour playing board games via candle light. :p

I'd be down for a tourney in Utica too. :D
