I'm working this weekend so I won't be at cura's.

Allied always good to see you dude, traveling to NJ hasn't worked out too well for me so far so I'm kind of discouraged from traveling out there again. =\
(not talking about placing just the overall tourney experience)

Wifi keeps you fresh on different playstyles and general tactics that may be used by certain characters. It also helps a lot with matchup practice against characters that may not be plentiful in your region.

Nowadays, I can only play people I have really good connections with.

Haha this fest was crazy fun. Had so many games against hulk and san and some games with others.

Going to tom hortons at 5:30am to get coffee and a bagel then being off the walls for the next two hours
playing random pokemon battles with sharky
Seeing XXX put his arm around Dr G, then having Dr G turning around and asking XXX, ". . . YOU GAY?!" LOOOOOL
Going to Denny's at 2am with Cura Sharky San XXX and Dr G
Seeing Foy passed out under the ping pong table with his pokemon game still on in battle. Who just passes out like that? xD
Watching random 64 smash games and seeing kirby own with dair
Playing games with smash balls/pokeballs on and owning with land *******.

Sooo much fun. xD

Dr. Grandpa makes everything 10x funnier, simply because he doesn't realize it himself.

QFT, just for the fact that so many people were able to show up with plenty of setups for everyone. If I can't get a ride to syracuse, I'll just take the bus (and hopefully someone can pick me up there)

I may have lost my Wii USB LAN adapter there (cause i think some stuff was taken out of my bag). Just to let people know if they see this post.

Can't wait to hear from alt/snakeee about their tourney, too =)
you also showed up at the place to pick up a jacket, only to leave another one there...
We should keep an ongoing list of all the stuff people leave in that black hole.
ill start.
left my fan there at RoR
I left my backpack there, which has my wii, my GC and all my controllers and cords

Ugh. The TO got the venue from noon to midnight. After he paid them, they told him we had to be out at 6pm. So dubs got cancelled, singles got rushed like crazy (and didn't finish before 6, but they gave him a hotel room to finish the tourney in), I didn't get to play a single friendly or MM and snakeee's MM against Vex got straight up canceled mid-match by the TO to start the tourney. The venue was hot as **** and the windows couldn't even be opened, people were ****ing sweating (even the girls -_- ) in the middle of march lol.

Performance-wise, we did poorly. He got 25th and I got last. I feel like only having me to practice with is really holding frank back right now which sucks =\
lol its amazing you still go to tourneys, when you seem to have not had a positive experience at one since you started going to them
This weekend was sick.

random tournies - too good, random partners, random stage (all stages legal) random character and RANDOM GAME. proest tourney ever.
5:30am wegmans run for amazing Amber cooking.
hyped matches - hyped inebriated matches.
beds with like 6 people sharing one blanket - im pretty sure there was an orgy in there, 3 dudes and amber? i heard some freaky noises when i came in there...
people i haven't seen until now
people from far away
mr pp pants' golf commentary - for those of you who didnt know, steffon/vicious/koj pissed himself, threw up on his shoes, and was found naked in the bathroom by pika pika...
finding stuff people lost all over the apt - i need to stop doing that.
kitchen melee setup - madd good.
me staying away for like a half an hour because i thought Neil was playing metal music, when really it was just his snoring
come from behind victories in pokemon stadium
bomberman hero
hyyyyyyype
wayyyy too good.

Smashfest was fun as hell. Huge shoutout to Cura for carrying me in the all Random tournament we had. We got brawl in every single match.

We gotta do another all randoms tournament some time. It's motivation to improve at both games. And it's bring both melee and brawl smashers together <3

I have obtained, a CAPTURE DEVICE!

-So I can capture them all vids from my wii and junk.

I've got some vids from FSOY2, which can be uploaded. So I'm going to gauge interest in what I should get up, so when I get around to it tomorrow I get whatever people wanted. I have:

Doubles match, Snakee & BEAN vs FF & XIII (HAR, HAR, HAR)
Singles:

San-Jiggs vs Goggles-Sonic (rainbow cruise, FD)
Jesiah vs pikapika (FD, frigate)
Sharky vs Hulk (PS1, Delfino)
1337-0 vs pikapika
l337-0 vs san

Hmmm... how much interest would there be in a tournament in Geneseo, NY, (45 minutes from Rochester, 2 hours from Syracuse), if Spamus and I decided to hold one? We could probably pull off doing it in the college Union...

1. If you look on the map on the first post about an inch below rochester you can see Geneseo.

2. Me, Neil, Jesse, Cura, and Hulk are pretty much down to go anywhere for smash, especially when it involves free money (oh snap!)

3. would it be a brawl tourney as well?

1. Indeed.

2. Great. Given that there's a lot of local (not very good but strong) interest in Smash brothers, with a bit of advertising and a bit of luck we can have about 20 smash regs and like 30 other people showing up to their first tournament, however:

3. It would be Brawl and Melee. Likely singles of each, and likely not a very large EF. On the other hand, likely no or little venue fee, or a discount for SUNY Geneseo students.

I practically got the greenlight today for the Union-- it would be in the Union's lobby for all of a Saturday or Sunday. The Union's lobby is a pretty big place, actually:

There's room for eight set-ups, easily. Food and such just down the hallway. Parking feasible, about a minute's walk away from out-of-towners. Could be a great little spot for a great little tournament...

Also I need the tourney organizing software you guys run around with.

Soo... hype plz?

What date are you aiming for? If you're not planning way up near another one when people might be too low on cash, you'll probably get Roch interest, since it's pretty close. (A little closer than Syracuse, even...)

And it's a good venue ironed out too, which is always a plus.

Aiming for a $5 tournament either April 24 or May 1-- just 2-3 weeks after RIT's, but RIT doesn't have finals until June and finals week is our second week of May.

I just spoke with the Director of College Union and Activities and sent him a lengthy e-mail explaining what it is we do and just how much hype we can get for a Smash tournament here.

BTW, I'm coming to RIT and bringing up to 3 guys with me. So I'll be able to plug it there.

Do not do the 24th. 24th=toracon. toracon=bunches of people probably won't go.
