The New Testament is not a history book; but it does have large amounts of history in it. However, the Bible was written by many authors, so some writings are legends or myths or folk tales, while some are history
Can you cite an example of where the Bible is not historically accurate?
I reject your statement about the New Testament not being history, because the Bible contains irrefutable historical facts, is used by historians, and the statement was written as an assumption.
Since you don't believe it was the Jews who persecuted Jesus, how about you find another historical document that says otherwise. As soon as it is found, I may consider otherwise, but until then; the only source from that period to describe what happened says it was the Jews.
I never said Christians did not persecute others. I said they had been persecuted as much as other religions (cept maybe Jews...) The crusades, which are what I assume you mean by "the Middle Ages (i.e. the 5th through the 18th century)," happened from 1095-1291. Plus the Middle Ages were only from the 5th through the 16th century. That is 200 or 1200 extra years you have included in this time.
Plus the reason for the crusades in the first place was to recapture territory which had previously been Christian but was taken by the Muslims.

Actually the Crusades were the first/only time in the Middle Ages the Christians gained the offensive against the Muslims.

Christians were persecuted by both the East and West Roman Empires until Constantine around 312 A.D. So from circa 33 A.D. to circa 312, Christians were persecuted, about 300 years. Then beginning around 632, Muslims began their conquest of previously Christian territories, which would last through the middle ages, with the exception of the crusades (200 years), lasting 700 years.
So all in all Christians were persecuted for about 1000 years, assuming that they have not been persecuted at all since around 1530.
If assertations without backing had a plug I would pull it.
