- 4player "for fun" mode is the true way to play smash. even competitively. we can minimize luck by repetition.
- 1v1 "for glory" mode feels like too SF to me instead of smash
explanation:
"for glory" feels like playing 1v1 mario kart with no items on GCN baby park.
it is a competition of perfect driving skill and good speed setup to win.
but it doesn't require other skills like item management and line management (as your driving lines may change depending if there are item boxes or bananas on the track).
and it breaks the balance of the karts making speed based karts more advantageous than handling / accel oriented ones.
in relation to smash. "for glory" 1v1,
it disregards other skills like item management, item mastery and stage mastery that one needs to excel in the normal mode.
also gives certain advantages to certain characters (i guess mac and megaman?) and disadvantage to some (e.g.rosalina's item pull move). it breaks the balance in place (like speed vs accel on MK).
