Alright cool, isn't that across from the Shell Auditorium? It's mostly chairs and no tables... but I'm sure we can make that workCorrection: the meeting will NOT be in Welch 1.316. It will most likely be in WCH 1.120 but I will announce the room as soon as I get confirmation.
did you even send an email out yet and i just happen to miss it or something?Correction: the meeting will NOT be in Welch 1.316. It will most likely be in WCH 1.120 but I will announce the room as soon as I get confirmation.
Taken care of already.Make sure that the school doesn't catch wind of this, b/c I'm pretty sure they disallow cash payouts as it's considered gambling for some stupid reason.
I did send an event proposal for a pot tournament to SALD and they basically approved it. However, we cannot avoid the rule that, when collecting money on-campus, we must use the rolled ticketing procedure.
So here's how we can run money events:
1. Fill out ticket request form and pay $1 for a pack of a hundred tickets Friday before the event.
2. At the meeting, tear in half one ticket per $5 entry fee collected. Save the stubs and keep money in locked drawer.
3. Once the tourney finishes, one officer (I can do it) pays in cash out of his pocket the prize amounts to the top finishers. This would probably be 1st-60%, 2nd-30%, and 3rd-10% of the pot after we take into account a 10% house cut for the club.
4. After the event, we return all ticket stubs to student organization bank and deposit all the entry fees into our account.
5. The officer that gave out the cash prizes gets reimbursed from the club account.
It's basically similar to the way we did the last money event but we would spot the winners their cash prizes, we would not need to bother with getting gift cards in advance, and the club is guaranteed to profit somewhat.
So, not the simple pot tournament procedure I was hoping for but it's an improvement over the old way.
Yes, it's across the street from WEL 3.502. It has one or two tables but we will have to borrow more.Alright cool, isn't that across from the Shell Auditorium? It's mostly chairs and no tables... but I'm sure we can make that work
