Or how about an item that can be turned on and off, like they already have it set up right now? (watch the trailer)

Making it a Limit thing breaks the game. Putting the supers on an item keeps the original gameplay if people want it, or adds supers for people who want to use those.
McFox what about the ability to turn limit breakers off eh? Cmon now there's two sides to every coin.

Edit: whoops sorry for the double post. >_>" Accident ^_^*

*ahem* Brawl looks amazing in terms of graphically quality and seemingly will be a very welcome addition into the Smash Bros. family. I will conclude by saying that the newcoming characters seem well thought out and I will enjoy playing this game on its release.

What about the fact that that doesn't matter because we already know they're using an item?

Well I hope your wrong about that, because that would bite. Its gonna feel like an eternety.

... ... ... ... ... Is it 2007 yet ... ... ... how about now, oh... its only been 30 seconds. :(

Now that I have seen this preview, It is so boring playing SSBM alone!!! Its a good thing I am going to a tournament tommarow. I just can't play SSBM alone fighting the stinky COMs while after just watching a preivew of a game that will be the greatest game of the rest of the decade!

Oh well...

They need all the time to make it perfect. But if they release it during the school year, my parents will probably take it away because I will be addicted to it and fail all my classes.

I linked to it in the last page. I know that IGN doesn't have the Meta Knight art at least. They may bemissing a few other pictures as well. I don't know why seeing as it's all in Nintendo's press kit. The second file is a zip file with non-watermarked images from the press kit.

I noticed some stuff about Metaknight. In the trailer, right after it introduces him with "Newcomer Metaknight" and he swoops down from his ship, it shows a close up of him landing on a platform, running up and attacking Mario. He dashes right into the attack, so it has to be a dash attack (according to Smash physics as we know them). But look at the attack! That is not how dash attacks are supposed to be! Either he has a really wierd dash attack, or he is able to dash directly into his rapid-A punch, or whatever move he was doing. If you open the trailer in Windows Movie Maker and have it automatically split the movie up into clips, the clip where this happens is 24.

Dash grab.
I'm not so sure about that. Like I said at the end of my post, I already considered this and watched it frame by frame (You can do this in Movie Maker by pressing Alt+right). The first contact he makes with Mario is with his sword, so maybe if his grab is a hit with the sword...

But I mean, look at it. You'll see that as soon as he completes the dash animation, literally the next frame he is raising his sword, and Mario is still in the middle of starting a fireball. But then after the second hit, it looks like he really is grabbing him.

Yeah, just checked it with that Alt-right thing.....wow....but then again, this is still insanely early in the games edvelopment, so I expect things should get chenged a little.

I'm agog! Nintendo is relaxing and adding third party characters? I don't know whether that's good or bad...it's kind of like breaking the rules of Smash Bros.

Nevertheless, this is simply amazing. I always thought that for Smash Bros 3 they would include "super attacks" or something along those lines.

BUT WHERE IS NESS?? They'd better not have left any characters out of the series.

I guess Snake is welcome. He doesn't look like he fits in, but hey, whatever, he's cool. Pit looks awesome! Metanight seems unusual to me, but his slicey dicey moves are cool.

OMG, I KNEW THEY'D INCLUDE A CHARACTER FROM WARIOWARE!! I was hoping it'd be Kat & Ana, but Wario himself is finally in the game, and he farts. Yay. Assgass attack.

I want this game. I'm getting a Wii for Christmas *_*

What do you guys think about a SMASH original character? I do understand, though, that it IS rather awkward... [off topic Question? *cough* *cough*]

After checking this out I think the attack is most likely Metaknight's ->B. It can be done out of a dash, and from the look of it, keeps the victim stunned in place for several consecutive hits. Reminds me a bit of Roy's ->B.

that seems like a good idea and if they are succesful enough they can go onto their own series and their name could be brawly or Super Brawly get it Brawl Brawly

PS3 can't compete. ESPECIALLY with their $600 console which is meant to be the 'center of home entertainment' more than a video game console.

Oh, and not that THIS will hurt PS3, but just a little side note:

::pST!:: Hey! over here.....did you know they removed the rumble feature just so they can have the motion sensor that they stole from Nintendo? whereas the Wiimote does everything and better? :psycho:

...whoa.

To quote Marvin the Martian, "Isn't it lovely?" Link looks great. Pit looks like he'll be stuffing arrows down the throats of those that take him as a joke. Samus...both forms...what can I say? And just my luck, Mario looks like he got even stronger. WIIII??...wait, I mean...WHYYYY??!! My only regret of seeing the footage I saw was that I didn't get to see Fox. Oh well. Brawl...will...rule...okay I'm done.

I don't think there's gonna be more movements. Ifyou can play with a GC controller you can just do attacks what already is in the game... or if they don't do attacks like A + B or L + -> C .... and that would be boring.

And I think the 5 characters they showed up was the start characters. They won't show more characters, though.

There are plenty of good possibilities.

  • Dash-Special (B while running.)
  • Charge-Canceling (Interrupt a smash or special charge attack with L/R/Z.)
  • Taunt-Canceling (Interrupt a taunt at the cost of bonus points, with any button.)
  • Grab-Canceling (Release someone you have grabbed with L/R/Z, and they will be stunned for a moment.)
  • Chargeless-Smash (Without the C-stick. If the A button is lifted durring the lag frames, immediately go into the attack with 0 charge.)
  • Looking (Just use the C-stick to make your character look arround. Has no purpose, other than looking nice. This would best be done with the Wii pointer if that controller were used. Could pan the camera arround in Adventure mode.)
I'm sure someone could think of a few more.

Regarding "it's fake!" comments. I doubt Nintendo is this stupid to pull such an elaborate prank.

http://www.smashbros.com/en/main.html

I mean look at the "How This Game Came To Be Made" article. A bit dramatic yes, but why go through all the trouble?

Sure I know Snake is pretty out there but I wouldn't doubt Kojima looking to make his ***** bigger by doing something like this. I can really picture him begging to put his star character in a very popular franchise.

That and that one fighter between Hudson and Konami chars didn't seem to do so well. I forget the name of it. Dreamix TV or something like that? It was VERY much like Smash Bros, but not quite.

So I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if maybe one or two more 3rd party characters appear. I really hope they don't over do it on the 3rd parties though. >>

i don't really get why snake is in this game. i mean, how many Metal Gear Solids were there? and how many were on the Gamecube? One (as far as I know), and it was a remake of the original.
