Why do we need a Direct to have a character teaser? Joker didn’t get his teaser during one. It would be great to see the next DLC and I’m hoping we do but I am not betting on that. I just think it’s more likely to get a DLC teaser sometime around Joker’s official launch as a big surprise.

Wouldn’t it be awesome though if Joker is officially launched tomorrow and ready to download and then we get the next DLC teaser lol.

I mean, you're right, but he was also revealed in a way that had millions of people tuning in to view.


From a marketing standpoint, it just doesn't make sense, your logic I mean. Nintendo's going to have a captive audience, why wouldn't they do the "Oh, by the way, please, have a look at this" instead of just randomly throwing up a trailer one day?


We didn't get a single DLC character for Smash 4 outside of a Direct, and we didn't get a single character for Ultimate outside one either. I really feel like Robin/Lucina and Pac Mans were very rare exceptions to the rule that won't happen again.

One thing is for certain Joker won't be shadow dropping tomorrow. They'd have given a notice about saving replays and what not.

So at most we're getting his gameplay and reveal of his release date.

What if we get a smash direct that reveals multiple characters between this and e3 though?

Aside from obvious gameplay footage and a release day for Joker, what other Persona 5 content do you want to see included in his featurette. Seeing as how this is a Nintendo Direct and not a Smash direct, we probably won’t get a whole lot of time dedicated to Smash. 10 minutes tops maybe.

Yeah I suppose so. I’m just grasping at straws but they could always send out a media blast saying “hey, check out something something for a special Smash announcement!”

I do hope we see some sort of next DLC announcement so don’t get me wrong there. Previously, we never got a DLC character showcase plus the next DLC announcement so it’s basically uncharted water at this point.

That'd be neat but then this thread would be pretty damn dead after the initial hype burst.

Remember, unless they start teasing a 2nd ballot or 2nd pass, after Joker, there are only 4 more characters, so while it'd be neat to know them all NOW... that initial 'WOW' factor would die off incredibly quickly.
