I hope Three Houses looks good, since it's going to be the highlight of this Direct.

I don't think it's a good idea because it punishes bad play and allows for no room to improve. There's nothing wrong with a reward system but allowing players to replay stages to get a higher score should be a thing as otherwise the whole game becomes a streesfest to get a high score on the very first try
Players can still replay the stage as long as they don't kill the boss of the area. There would also be a Training Mode outside of the main game where people could practice stages they have already beaten once without counting score.

The highscore stuff is meant for challenge runs, since the difficulty of the stages unlocked are higher and are unrelated to the main story. The extra scenes for doing well in a stage are meant for world building, since you get to learn some backstories. The items are some one use stuff like an item that revives you to full HP without spending a life, etc. The game still has a lot of content and is very playable without focusing on the highscore. I plan on having the option of turning the score off for more casual players that don't care about challenges and only want to focus on the game's main story.

The direct will, naturally, have the infamous, “But, we have one last thing...”

HMMM.....

Anything Xenoblade X or Elma related would be fantastic, but I'll still keep expectations in check. Hopefully tomorrow we'll get something nice.

Why do people always forget to tag me on this stuff...
Probably just a sequel to/port of X or something. Or she’s doing a voice in some other project.

Will that "one last thing", be able to surpass the flaming Smash logo, in terms of hype?

It's gonna be hard to top that, imo.

Short answer: No.

Long answer: The Smash announcement from last year was so monumental not only for its form (the bait and switch announcement with the Splatoon characters), but the fact that it came so relatively quickly off the heels of Smash 4. It was more likely that the next Smash game would be another 2 or more years out, yet the announcement came just two years after support for the last game ended. And Smash being one of Nintendo's most popular titles, it was much more significant of an announcement than, say, Metroid Prime 4 in a sense.

Is there any other game that would get as much universal hype as Smash? All of Nintendo's other series are fairly popular, but none have such a broad casual and hardcore appeal.

Direct Predictions so far:
Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Metroid Prime Trilogy
Pikmin 3/Trilogy
Spyro Trilogy

Wait a second... So many 3s... Also, the direct's on the 13th... Could it be?
First Jon from GameXplain, now you.

This has to stop.

This ain't good for the soul.

I would prefer this.

Either way though if Erdrick were to be announced they would use the DQ Overture which version? Who knows they may even use a Remix. But yeah I have no problem with either, the one I used was just the first to pop up.
