Will that "one last thing", be able to surpass the flaming Smash logo, in terms of hype?

It's gonna be hard to top that, imo.
Can't think of anything tbh - Smash really is Nintendo's hype machine. While it isn't as universally popular though, an F Zero announcement would be a huge 'HOLY ****' moment just cos of how long its been dormant for

Especially since they already told us about Metroid Prime 4 way in advance.

Before the flaming Smash logo I'd say Nintendo's best "one more thing" they ever pulled was the launch trailer for Other M at E3. That was so ****ing hype.

@Shishœ I think I came up with a better idea for the replaying stages problem: Have a score for each stage, instead of a cumulative system. That way people can replay the stages and if they got a better score, it replaces the previous one instead off adding the new one to the count. Is this better?
Also, how do you recommend me to address the improving problem?

broke: thinking SE retweeting the Direct means Erdirck

woke (and objectively correct): thinking SE retweeting the Direct means Bravely 3 trailer

You do know that game is in development, right?
oh yeah, also the early 3D final fantasy rereleases

im pretty sure we still dont have a date on those and we eventually will by tomorrow
like clockwork people would automatically assume

now i'll just dance in my "totally correct 100%" corner of ego and we'll call it a day

I'm gonna die on this hill that we're getting a reveal besides Joker gameplay tomorrow.

We won't have another General Direct until E3, and I just can't see the SMASH section of the Direct being "Here's Joker, here's gameplay, here's his release date, that's all folks!" and not pull the "Oh, one more thing..."
Comming back 5 pages behind just to say that
Iirc Cloud's development started WAAAAY too late? We only had placeholder.
Ryu and Roy had Victory fanfare, and were probably VERY well into development, enough to pull the "HERE IT IS! OH AND HEY! DLC! BUY THEM!" directly

I was hyped for Other M when I saw it announced, yet somehow I totally forgot about it by the following year and didn't even notice it release, despite Metroid being one of my favorite franchises. I guess I was wrapped up too much in the hype for Halo: Reach, which came out the following month. Thank goodness I did forget, though.

I'm not even opposed to a cinematic, story-based Metroid. Just one that doesn't have a garbage script.

Yeah but they have a schedule now, and I'm sure they have the resources to abide by that schedule. They told us that we'd be getting all of our DLC before next feb so

Smh, y'all are sleeping on Rhythm Heaven Warriors

So many different quirky characters, that people can't seem to agree on exactly who should rep the series in Smash...

So just put them all in a Warriors style game

Y'all still know my dream game.

Super Smash Bros. (Nintendo) vs. Jump Stars (Weekly Shonen Jump)

All the possible rivalries.

Mario vs. Goku
King K. Rool vs. Blackbeard
Ridley vs. Frieza
Pit vs. Pegasus Seiya

You name it!

I thought it was already a score for each stage though? When you talked about it, I imagined it being like a ranking system that give your score at the end of each stage and that it was solely based on the performance on that stage. Regardless, it is indeed a better choice imo.
As for improving, just let players replay stages to get a higher score. If players are to be punished for dying or taking damage, make it so that it only takes into accounts the deaths that happened during this particular run during the stage.

I'm pretty sure most game scoring systems dk that already.

I still want Star Fox Warriors. Iirc Koei had actually asked about that and was turned down. Hope they ask again sometime. Want more Nintendo Warriors titles
