The Grinch memes can still be funny but I still kinda hate that the leak was created to begin with.

The leak tore the fanbase to shreds with how the wars it started. It was freaking toxic, and in the end ultimately turned out to be one massive, convincing and convoluted fake anyway. Did anything good come out of it? Will it help brace people for similar incidents in the future and give more people greater incentive to be skeptical of future high-quality leaks? I sure hope so. Because otherwise all it did was spark flame wars and cause people to insult each other over attempts to prove and disprove it.

Yeah, but it was like... fun.

In the midst of Kencineroar and Box Theory, it gave people hope. Hope that was futile, hope that deep down, people knew that it could not possibly be true. 6 unique characters in a single direct? Are you kidding me?

And yet, it was entertaining to see people cling on the the last embers of the flame that was once Isaac. That was once Banjo. That was once Shadow. That was once Geno.

Because dread it...

Run from it...

I can’t promise anything since i gosh darn can’t stick to one thing but I’ma thinkin of starting one of them You Tube video things and using one of them nifty cameras to record myself flapping my gams about Smash and silly things like that whilst tooteling up and down my small part of Japan.

also I dig your erdrick idea, actually heard it suggested recently elsewhere and I love the idea of having a bunch of different DQ characters (bowser jr style) as all the costumes or something. would be cool.

Eh... had a lot of evidence pointing towards her. But the same could be said for characters like Shadow.
She was not a lock by any means, but was still highly speculated.

however had Verg, the Box Theory, the Grinch leak, the legit image leak and the possibility of 3rd party echoes () in his favor.
Regardless of what theory you believed in, Ken was a lock to virtually everyone.

I loved the Grinch Leak. It was like a look at what could be. Geno, Banjo, Isaac, Shadow, Ken, Mach Rider in the same game? HOLY ****.

It was basically just a peak at the fantasy that most Smash fans have and it was glorious. I'm also certain this caused more people to bandwagon these characters which is good for exposure. Then you have the collective groans of everyone that saw the Direct when the Isaac Trophy was announced that should've been telling that we wanted Isaac.

I dunno. I feel like The Grinch Leak did more good than anything else.

Admittedly Steve is very popular everywhere else except for the Smash Community which has a very polarizing stance on him as half of the Community want Banjo as the Microsoft rep and the other want Steve. So yeah He's quite popular.

The rep wars are kinda weird tbh, since they choose characters based on...uh, who they want, and not their companies.

We could get both (technically all three because Kazooie).

Eh, Ken's trailer was still worth it. I can't say how much I wanted that leak to be true, even without prior confirmation. Just didn't want Ryu to be alone from his series.

I still utterly Detest whoever made it as it wasn't some oopsie doopsie Fake it was some real big brained Scheme done out of hatred for the Smash Fanbase.

It gave team real hope that maybe their favorite can get in, Maybe Isaac can get in, Maybe Banjo can get in, Maybe Geno can get in, Maybe Shadow, Maybe Mach Rider, Chorus kids. But It was not meant to be yet, it looked so convincing and so Enticing that I could not for the life on me resist it. I succumbed to that Enchantress Grinch.

It started wars and tore the Fanbase apart. The effects from that devilish scheme can still be felt today as not a ton of people want to get their hopes up as they prepare for the worst case scenario case and point; I for one have not felt much hype ever since that evil scheme nor do I want to get my hopes up cause of how badly burned I was during the November Direct and I don't want to feel that crushing realization that no matter what I do, no matter how much Speculation I do, No matter how much hope I have, no matter how many prayers, it doesn't matter in the end. I never want to feel that feeling again so I don't get my hopes up for any characters I may want.

I utterly detest the person who did this to the Community and what it did to everybody. It was not good in the slightest, it started wars and brought out the worst in everybody who started harassing innocent Insiders who were only trying to get info out there, We harassed and made some stupid conspiracy that Gamexplain was in-bed with Nintendo trying to claw our way to hope just cause we were so desperate for our favorite Characters.

I hope to never see something like that happen ever again. Curse you Grinch and you're evil scheming.

I think the primary reason Halberd is banned is because of the low ceiling, which gives characters with good vertical finishers and/or air mobility such as Meta Knight and Rosalina easier KOs.

Oh yeah it was completely fun taking part in an unbalanced one-sided mode that if you weren’t Bowser, you had no chance of winning aside from the underwater board where it’s pretty much the exact opposite.

I'll have you know that I beat my little sister at Bowser Party 83.5% of the time when she was Bowser and all three CPUs were set to easy...on all boards.

2. Regardless of how long it is, walk-off stages are a big no-no for competitive Smash stages.
If it didn't have that section, it might actually be considered for competitive play.
But since it does, you're not gonna see it unless it's in Battlefield or Omega form.

Kencineroar and box theory would still be talked about to the point of exhaustion. There would still be some salt at the reveal, but it's a little less because this time there was no leak getting our hopes up.

it's banned because why have it? we have all these stages now, to the point where we get to decide which are legal and which aren't rather than settling. There is no point in legalizing halberd when we have so many better stages for competitive play

I'll give the Grinch Leak this:

It taught us to keep our expectations at a controllable level, and it gave my precious Chorus Kids, more time in the spotlight.

Seriously though, do you know how infuriating it is for your character to be involved in the major rumor of Smash speculation, twice, and still has yet to get in?

The blast zones have been adjusted for Ultimate (If my knowledge is accurate)

1) Big laser beam
2) Walk offs
3) Travelling Stage

The walk off and traveling parts are inconsequential.
