sonic all stars racing transformed was way better than it had any right to be, but i dunno about sonic team racing fam, it's giving me bad vibes
I'm glad I'm not the only one. Something about it feels like, "Hey, we need to cash in on our license with something. Do we have a team that can code a simple racing game?"

It was actually low on my list just because I'm not saving as much money. It's only $39.99. Which, y'know, is a great sign.

Looking for help deciding on what games to buy.

For anyone unaware, Target is having a Buy-two-get-one-free sale on most of their videogames, including preorders. (Unfortunately almost all the good Switch/3DS games are exempt from the offer.) The catch is that, if you preorder it, it has to be shipping and their standard shipping is like 3-5 business days after release date. So I'm not using this for preorders I really want day one, like Mortal Kombat 11 or Anthem.

So here's my list of candidates. Which three should I choose?
  • Ace Combat 7 (never played an AC game, heard good things about the story)
  • Dragon Quest XI (never played a DQ game, this one seems really well received?)
  • God Eater 3 (played GE2 on the Vita, it's fun)
  • Jump Force (Because I'm a sucker for Kenshin.)
  • Sonic Team Racing (The Sonic Racing games are good, and it's like the only Switch game on the list I want.)
  • Biomutant (I kinda forget what made it seem cool at E3, actually.)
  • Code Vein (I've never played Dark Souls and this is apparently anime Dark Souls, so I'm pretty sure I'm not gonna get it.)
Any others I should consider? (Preemptive side note: No. I'm not interested in Kingdom Hearts 3.)
Option #8: Play Yakuza.

Yeah, but it's gonna become a needless cluster if ALL of the character talk is held in one thread.
Yeah, and unless you want a thread like this to contain all of the toxicity that certain characters bring w/ them, it's gonna be a lot less pleasant for the people in general threads.

You're not really getting rid of the toxicity, your just putting it all in one condensed place. And while yes, that may make moderation easier, it's not really gonna improve the experiences of anyone on this site.

the first gameplay trailer made it look like a low-budget mess trying to capitalize on the goodwill of all-stars transformed and my impressions only got worse from there on tbh

On the one hand, yeah support threads can get toxic.

On the other hand, some support threads are really cozy. I like Ashley from Warioware, but she doesn't get discussed much here. In her own thread, I could go and talk about her with other fans and generally have a great time!

So yeah. it's complicated.

Recently took a look at all the models of Jump Forces' full roster, and I really gotta say.

If Dragon Quest is in Smash, then Nintendo once again ****s on another company for making their character look better than their competitor's counterpart. That Dai model is ****ing hideous.

Apparently a Discord mod is abusing his power and furries are doing furry porn crap and illegal crud. People think the site is going to shut down. I wouldn't place my money on it, but still.
insert quackity exposed discord for furry mobs

Do Octolings have one?

If not, I should change that...

Since Ramen Tengoku Ramen Tengoku likes Minecraft (I kind of do too), I feel like he would like Dragon Quest Builders a lot.

It is a game that takes place in an alternate version of another DQ game where the bad guy actually won, being part of the sandbox genre and based by Minecraft on some elements.

It is available on Switch, but the PS4 version is my personal suggestion.

The worst support threads are the ones that get too much attention. The smaller ones tend to be more chill.

Yeah, it depends on the threads tbh...

The Elma and Rhythm Heaven threads are generally very calm and relaxed...

The holy trinity threads can usually get pretty toxic...

And then there's the poor Steve thread, which is bombarded with trolls and anti-supporters so much, that I feel like I have to write a defensive post, every other time something gets posted...

Press Garden Zone and Mystic Saloon zone would be really neat to see fused. They come from the same game, but have a large amount of contrast.
I guess that would work, hopefully the songs would sound interesting combined as well. For the most part I’ve been mostly trying to think of levels from different games for variety and to kinda show the extent of the damage being done to reality, but if it’ll work I’ll take it.

Thankfully I don’t go there to bash Minecraft.
In fact, I went there yesterday to share the fact that I love the idea and possibilities of a Minecraft stage.

Btw, you should give DQ Builders a try since that game is also sweet.

Random question:
Who you do think is currently the most highly requested female character?
One of these:
>Alex (Minecraft)
>Elma (Xenoblade X)
>Dixie Kong (DKC)
>Lara Croft (Tomb Raider)
>Lightning (Final Fantasy)

In my experience with character support threads, the only ones that really had significant problems or unpleasant behavior were the super big ones like K. Rool's back in the Smash 4 days. Honestly, getting rid of them would cause an even bigger problem: If you try to get people to come into the social threads to talk about their characters, all you're gonna get is chaos and 50 different conversations going on at once. Not only that, but you'll also be inviting the unpleasant users from those threads in as well, adding further to the chaos. You'd risk all kinds of nasty flame wars.

Separating discussion promotes more organized discussion and I imagine is easier for site staff to keep an eye on than an all-out free-for-all in the social, so I'm okay with support threads staying.

While cool, it looks like the thread is dead, which is a huge shame. I'd love to talk about the ideas I have for 'em.

Alright, ponder this:
What if we lived in a timeline where Putt Putt was the most popular kids gaming icon, he has had loads of titles, etc... and as a result he got in Smash, Think about it.

People ask for Steve, not Alex, since she pretty much would come as an Alt for him anyway.
Agree.
Agree.
She's not that requested, but she has a decent following.
No.

I believe the most requested female is Shantae, with Elma being a close second and Pyra being 3rd.
