Honestly, if I could think of a con that Smash Ultimate has, is that we don't have an alt for Hyrule Warriors Ganondorf. That rendition of Ganondorf is way too good. I was REALLY hoping that'd be the case for Smash For, but we got TP again. And besides, it's shown with Wedding Mario and Meta Ridley that you can still have the skeleton of the character and make any edits or what have you.

And to be honest, what matters most is the roster, so if Hyrule Warriors is all unique, I'd rather go with that than Fire Emblem Warriors. Sometimes given the circumstances, QOE < Uniqueness every now and then.
For me, I was extremely disappointed that Peach and Bowser didn't get their wedding outfits too, especially the latter. Would've been cool to have Bowser fight in a tux.

I also wanted armored Mewtwo, but that's a dream that's likely staying in PM.

Since were currently on this.

Mind if I ask what everyone's favorite movies are?

Mine would have to be the Heisei Gamera Trilogy. No movies IMO will ever top those.

Others would be Godzilla (1954), Guardians of the Galaxy 1 & 2, Fast & Furious movies, Kong: Skull Island, Mulan, The Brave Little Toaster and The Prince of Egypt.
Oh boy

In no particular order:

Blade Runner 2049
Hot Fuzz
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
Most Marvel films
Mission Impossible 4 and 6
Mad Max Fury Road
How To Train Your Dragon 1
The Bourne trilogy
John Wick

and probably several others I can’t remember right now.

Edit: throw Pacific Rim on there. I love me some weird creatures

With getting some money soon, I see Fire Emblem Warriors is $31.88 on Amazon. Is it worth the purchase?
It's better then Hyrule Warriors by a country mile.

Get it.

What about the whole team of eight scenario in an animated series? That’s more so what I’m trying to get at, I’m trying to figure out how to make a tiny dragon like that appear more than just a mascot character,
Well even then, supplementary D&D guides can still help you form ideas. But if I had to take a gander, the tiny dragon could be sort of like an medium for which the magic users use their magic. One of them could make the dragon grow and become a fighter, one could make it a fire creature, etc. It could also mean that in the initial episodes the uses are limited to one spell at a time, but later on there could be combinations applied to the dragon. I don't know, I'm just spitballing... :yoshi:

How's there been 50 pages since last night? The heck happened?

*Inhales*

No, not at all. People complain about Clones in Smash, so many characters in that game are just straight up clones of one another.
That's... weird. Why is that?

What about Hyrule Warriors then, y'all? I heard for those who hadn't played the Wii U or 3DS games, the Definitive Edition is the best version and really good.
The writing is really terrible. It's like an awful fanfiction that exists solely to contrive all the different characters from different eras coming together. The characters are all very flat, and the dialogue makes them seem like a shadow of the characters as they're known in their respective games.

Gameplay-wise, it's pretty fun. The only major issue is that sometimes there will be missions where 20 minutes in you get a curveball objective that's nearly impossible to succeed in unless you're already prepared for it, so I've to restart big missions a couple times just because of that. Or maybe I just don't know how Warriors games work. I'm not an expert.

I will say that it is definitely bang for your buck. It has so much content for $60, but that's to be expected from an edition that's a game + all DLC released over a few years. Compared to, say, Super Mario Party, you're getting way more value out of the purchase, as it has a lot of replay value for all the upgrades and unlockables.

Oh, but there is one odd technical issue. The game still renders at 1080p when in handheld mode, which decreases performance/battery life. This still hasn't been patched for some reason.

EDIT: Oh yeah, the characters are all very unique. And it's fun to finally get to play as Zelda characters you've never been able to before, like Midna, Zant, Skull Kid, etc. Don't know why they picked Agatha as a character, though. That was a weird one.

Some of my favorite movies to watch of the top of my head are Alien, Gojira(Godzilla 1954), Dr. Strangelove, Jurassic Park, HTTD 1/2, Kung Fu Panda 1-3, Finding Nemo(it's sad that The Good Dinosaur wasn't nearly this good), Pacific Rim, and the LotR trilogy. And a bunch of other movies that I'm too lazy to list.

Though honestly I think I spend my time watching ****ty or really cheesy movies than good movies. Like, by a huge margin. For instance, few weeks ago I subjugated my time watching Mortal Kombat Annihlation for some reason.
And a few more I overlooked as well.
-Beauty and the Beast (1991)
-Ghostbusters (1984)
-The Incredibles
-Inside Out
-John Carpenter’s The Thing
-The Dark Knight
-The Iron Giant
-Who Framed Roger Rabbit
-The Rocky films + Creed
-Halloween
-Evil Dead series
-The Neverending Story
-Willy Wonka
-Princess Bride
-Most of Don Bluth’s films (Land Before Time, All Dogs Go to Heaven, An American Tail, Secret of NIMH)
-Finding Nemo
-How to Train Your Dragon
-Alien/Aliens
-Kung Fu Panda trilogy
-Shrek 2

We can talk about Bowser in a tux AFTER he gets his Mario series voice in Smash.

Look at it this way.

Hyrule Warriors is quantity over quality.

Fire Emblem Warriors is quality over quantity.

Hyrule Warriors just has straight up obnoxious stuff with Adventure Mode and bosses.

Fire Emblem Warriors is less but its consistently more fun. It also bucks the trend by having actual nice writing.

You don't understand how monumental it was to see the Fire Emblem reddit appreciate Corrin's writing in a game.

I fully support an 8th Fire Emblem character for DLC, just to see this fanbase **** itself. Bonus points if it's Camilla, as unlikely as that is compared to Edlegard.

Yes, I want to watch the net burn.

I know people **** on FE Warriors for clones but...

Every character is actually fun.

Meanwhile in Hyrule Warriors you have characters like Agitha who is infamous for how awful she is to play.

I'm just wondering, because I've never played a Fire Emblem game, so I assumed that the lack of moveset variety among the characters in Smash was due to the odd development of the characters ending up with many of them being clones. But is there actually not that much diversity in their moves, even in their home games?

I have my characters already drawing their magic from a different source (in some cases literally), but I can see potential in that idea, the magic size changing part could have its uses...

Bruh, aren't Dynasty Warriors games famous for the amount of characters that share the same moveset?

Hyrule Warriors was the odd on out.

Mushroom Kingdom Warriors has the potential to be one of the most colorful and different Warriors games of all time. Imagine the things you could do with the Mario cast in a Warriors format.

Honestly, no.

From what I remember the gal from Valencia's a clone of Marth, despite her being a magic/sword user in her game.

They just kinda got lazy.

And that's why Hyrule Warriors is one of the only three times I bought a Dynasty game in the first place.

I play Musou games for the novelty of them which is why I prefer HW or just Extella where I can play characters I actually like.

Also do you want it to be a sentient creature or just a pet? That could be a plot element in itself as since they're using the dragon as a tool, is it considered ethical? Was the dragon specifically created to fulfill this role or is ot just a living creature in that universe? So many questions...

Eh, writing for me is always a case-by-case basis. Might have to see that for myself, and I kinda like cheesy or B-Level stories every now and then.

Besides, you're talking to someone who off and on bring up Omikron: The Nomad Soul - which may I remind all of you: that game was made by David "I Have a Collection of Naked Ellen Page Photos" Cage, impressed ****ing David Bowie to the point where he wanted to be a part of it, and people say that game was amazing.

Did you all not see what it did to Best Friends. Matt literally had to take a month break. (Language Warning) That's how bad that game was. So I think if Hyrule Warriors story ain't all that great, I don't think I'll mind if the side content is great. And there's your daily reminder that Omikron is a thing that exists. :dazwa:

I'm using the Visual boy advance, but when I put it into the Patch rom it says path file not found. I don't know why.
Just to make sure you extracted both Right? By both I mean Rom and Translation patch

Donkey Kong Warriors is the most slept-on idea. Each Kong has a quirk that can be used uniquely. Donkey, Diddy, Dixie, Cranky, Lanky, Chunky, Kiddy, Tiny, and even the main man who should've been a Smash character Funky has something going for them.

Even the villains. :ultkrool:, one of those Kung Fu Kongs, that Tiki guy, they all have potential.

The enemy bosses are even more unique in selection. Mugly, Queen B, Krow, Krudgel, Armordillo, do I neven need to go on?

#DKWarriors

make it ****ing happen
