Silly/Off Wall/unexpected picks are fine, it’s a good way of showing Sakurai and his team’s creativity but I can understand why some people despise them since it’s mostly at the cost of not getting their wanteds.

And frankly, it ain’t new to Smash.

Adeleine too.
I love that character since her moveset as a boss in DL3/64 and as a playable character in Star Allies is dope.

I would main her like I do with K.Rool, even if I suck at first.

Definitely Marx. After playing as him in Star Allies, I could see him having a fun moveset in Smash.

Either Adeleine or Magolor, personally. Adeleine completes the BitF quartet, while Magolor is an awesome egg-shaped space wizard guy.

Though I'd go with Magolor since at least Adeleine's powers can be represented through, say, Vince. And Vince is great.

the only problem with bandana dee is that it would involve sakurai referencing modern kirby games in a more significant capacity than music and spirits, and we all know that's not happening

(yes i know bandana dee technically comes from super star, but the whole spear-toting friend of kirby thing is a new addition)
