Literally redoing every cutscene, scenario, and dialogue to fit the female character

its not easy as pressing a button.

P5R is either P4G thing with added sublot and a new girl or the new girl is the MC of new subplot in the game.

Yall are seriously underestimating how much work a FeMC in P5 would be. Legit, P3P has a TON of **** stripped away, which made feMC way more feasible. Considering this is still a full-fledged P5 that isn't gimped on the 3DS, the amount of work done would be ridiculous.

Atlus might still do it of course, their wallets are far fatter after P5's release, but just know that just because P3P did it, doesn't mean that they'll do it for P5, Especially considering they didn't do it for P4G.

Welp... my lucky streak in Granblue has definitely come to an end now.

But in terms of the new character for P5R, I don’t really think she’s a Female MC based on what little context we have.

She could end up having a similar fighting style/Personas to Joker, but I’m not sure she’d flat out replace Joker. It might be a separate mode where we get direct control over her, but I’m not sure how they’d work it out in terms in the overall storyline/plot of Persona 5.

We’ll just have to wait and see.

At the same time however, Akechi asking "What's your opinion of the phantom thieves?" coincides with an interview section later in the game, where the player is given the choice of responding with a few player-decisions.

This could be an enactment of that conversation for dramatic effect.

(Or who knows, maybe she's just the Marie or Aeon Arcana of the game)

see i'd agree with the notion that she's some kind of aeon arcana confidant, given how her dialogue is against the phantom thieves... if we didn't already have some pretty compelling evidence that she's a skin for joker in smash, using arsene and knives and all that (keep in mind she has to fit to this pose, and no two party members in P5 use the same weapons). if she was just some new party member or confidant, it's hard to say why that would be reason enough to give her billing alongside joker himself in the challenger pack, so at the very least she's likely the protagonist of something, even if that's her own game or chapter. and that doesn't even begin to explain why she has joker's kit in the first place.

and honestly at that point, it's between creating a new game or revamping an existing one--and i don't see why either would be more resource-consuming than the other.

I always thought MKWii had an godlike track selection. Mushroom Gorge, Toad's Factory, MKWii Bowser's Castle, Grumble Volcano, Maple Treeway, Coconut Mall, Koopa Cape, Wario's Goldmine, and Moo Moo Meadows, they're all great IMO. Plus it had a great retro selection.

the other is a new story meaning you can do new things without worrying with the old

Akechi dies before the end of Persona 5, and even before that he is outed as a traitor.

The only time he asks these questions is inbetween meeting Joker and before the last part of the game, setting up a definite time-frame for which he could question P5R girl. That means that at least to a certain extent, she is going to kinda retcon herself within the story (assuming of course, she isn't just fem-Joker)
