Sakurai could give advance warning that none of the characters are Geno, Banjo, or Isaac and people would still be surprised and pissed when none of them are Geno, Banjo, or Isaac

Nah, even if the character is Geno or Banjo, people will be mad. Hell, I KNOW people on this site who would be mad about Banjo or Geno. They'd scream and pout about how they're irrelevant and undeserving as a result, probably tack on some insults related to them not being an anime character.

There were people mad about K. ****ing Rool or Ridley getting in over their preferred character. You can't satisfying everyone.

I feel like Minecraft and Dragon Quest are really the only mega blockbuster game franchises we have left, when it comes to potential third parties in Smash

I wouldn't worry about it. That was primarily over on Gamefaqs, and that died down quickly. People over here are much better

That Indie Highlights showcase was pretty disappointing. Not too into any of the stuff shown, and nothing on King of Cards or Untitled Goose Game (big disappointment, no joke).

I know I saw my fair share of "Ashleyfags BTFO", but I didn't come across this. Wow. Why do people have to take every opportunity to be a bully in this fanbase?

I was hoping for an update on AHiT's Switch port, but unfortunately, nothing.

No King of Cards is also a major bummer. :(

I'm really sorry that you had to go through that, Noi. I know how you feel, honestly. Though, I feel that it shouldn't matter what other think of Ashley, you still love the character, don't you?

Oh yeah there's a weird amount of hate towards people who like Ashley

Like people calling those who want Ashley pedophiles, or drawing weird fanart of her getting beat up (like explicitly, black eye and busted lip and ****) or straight up killed (which is bad considering she's a child)

It's strange, perhaps it spawns from her being sort of an underdog pick compared to huge fanbases like K.Rool and Ridley's? idk

The Pokemon chosen for Smash usually have a big presence in the anime. It's very rare for them to be chosen because of them having an important role in the games (we'd probably get more playable legendaries if that were the case).

Meowth was robbed, dammit. If Jigglypuff didn't have an identical body type to Kirby, he'd probably be in. He's way more prominent in the anime, especially in the 90s.

And I think the Ashley hate is partially because tribalistic 'us vs. them' mentalities (see the ****flinging between the fanbases of the Gen 7 starters) and because one or two salty Ashley fan tweets were taken and shared as if they were representative of everyone

Is Eevee the most recurring Pokemon to always show up in the anime besides Pikachu, and also be pretty iconic for being one of the only few Pokemon to actually speak?

Oh don't get me wrong, i'm 100% sick of Kanto and everything in it. Meowth is the exception, because Anime Team Rocket is the best.
