Also, are the booths only reserved for tangible merchandise or can services be sold as well, such as controller modding?

Services can also be sold.
The purpose of the Boots/Tables is to make sure venue fee is covered, so I am mostly targeting Companies as Sponsors, but I am open to anything.

Also ALL OF SAN DIEGO better be coming to this... is only 45 mins up the road...

lol, maybe a dominos or something would take a boot. if they sold pizzas for 6 bucks it would be pretty popular. and almost everyone would get pizza I swear.

try that maybe.

Yeah Jamba wont do it... I have talked to their Corp Office a few times about things like this.
I will try a pizza place though and some other food places.
El Pollo Loco maybe... dang that would be good!

is there any reason prices for melee are 20 and 15? those are like national prices for what is hopefully going to be a big regional

i know connor and a lot of the irvine randoms can't afford like 50+ dollars for a tourney, so your turnout is going to be low

i know this tourney would at least be semi affordable for many people if the prices were like 10 singles, 10 doubles, and 10 venue, which means a higher turnout ergo making more money from your venue fee

i'm not sure how many other people feel this way, but i know a few of us don't want to spend $50+ on a one day tourney that will hopefully have good turnout, and giving mango $20+ a person with singles and teams combined is dumb

EDIT: both GAMME and APEX are only charging 15 singles and 10 doubles, and those are nationals

yeah I completely agree

like at TP4, Vish was REALLY close to not even entering that because of the price. and no one else from UW showed up for that reason. Andy (theprime) even took work off that weekend a few weeks in advance, but when he found out it would cost that much he just hung out with friends or something instead.

and that's just in washington... california has way more semi-casual players who will go to a tourney but NOT if it's $50-60 imo

especially since socal has tourneys literally every weekend

It will be the MBR rule set or a modified WA rule set

BAsically, melee-corneria is legal, poke is neutral, mute city is legal. Subject to change.

Yea, I understand about venue costing bank, but is there a reason the entry needs to be so high, how much of that is used for something other than payouts. I think ppl are more attracted to a fun tourney vs big money.

So the issue is you all want high guaranteed prizes, but low entry... You sort of can not have both... so when people start to complain about only a low guarantee (or no guarantee as it will likely be)... I expect ALL OF YOU to fight on my side for that... because with TP2-4, I got a TON of complaints about low guarantee...which is why I raised entry and guarantee on those events.

RULES - As Cline said, standard Melee rules, MLGish/Washington'ish (for Melee)
Brawl will prob not be MLG rules seeing how those have been tweeked now.. to more standard rules that we are all use too.
Halo and MW2 - MLG/GameBattle rules with slight mods (like games per set being Best 2 or 3, not Best of 5's)

Venue fee can not go down, as I can not lose money... this event is costing me 2x what any TP event has because I have to travel also for it and rent a ton of stuff.

Dropped $5 off all events and changed Set Ups and Pre vs Late Reg
