Yeah, and they're encouraging everyone to stay indoors.
The dude is a white male who's 42 years old. He's wearing a green shirt and jeans. 5'/8" and 160lbs who escaped into the woods on the my campus (which is 2000 acres)

Anyway, it's highly disturbing that crazy people can just walk into a campus. The drawback of open campuses I guess.

Hopefully they'll catch this guy.

You should keep a switchblade or a chain in your pockets in my opinion. This is always pretty useful... And hopefully, you won't have to use any of 'em.

Here in the UK, you're scarcely allowed any blades at all. Those that are allowed have to be a pocket knife that can't lock, are less than 3 inches, and you need a valid reason to carry one e.g. for carving wood.

Looking past that, it's pretty creep that there's some potential murderer running around... I can't really think of anything comforting to say, excpet the fact that he perhaps isn't a murderer after all. But still, I hope it ends up OK.

They are, yes. It's illegal but pretty easy to get your hands on them.
Even easier if you're in the states. I'm in Canada, such things ain't as easy to get. Especially guns. (Not like I've tried lol...)
But pocket knives, anything that could save your *** in a tight situation. That's what I mean. A few acquaintances of mine even have billy clubs.

From what I heard, he's wanted for a murder that happened in Alabama, 8 years ago. He somehow ends up here in Florida.

Here in Idaho your a wuss if you don't carry some type of armament. At least in public areas.

Knives are horrible weapons for protection if your opponent is aware that you have one on your person. There's a saying, no walks away from a knife fight uninjured. If your opponent sees you with a knife, they are more than likely going to be able to avoid any stopping damage for the longest of time. The only time a knife is deterrent is if you have it already on someone's vitals. By and large, a Knife is not going to GET you into a position do that if someone is already threatening you.

A Taser, pepper spray, and the like are far more effective weapons for self defense, and just as easily to conceal.
