I'll take a whack at it...

I swear, you play almost exactly like I do, and you make some of the same mistakes I do (so I know how hard it is to avoid doing these things). Examples include:
1. lots of spinshot to bair, even when you land in front of your opponent, so he should have shieldgrabbed you a lot more than he did
2. using dthrow when uthrow or some other throw would work better, like at one point he was at 0% and you dthrew him when I think uthrow > utilt/uair/whatever would have done more damage
3. lots of approaching with the same stuff (mix it up with dash attack, dashgrab or maybe punish him airdodging into the ground with a pivot grab? something different like that...)
4. ...I don't want to offend, but a lot of times you would repeat certain obvious gimmicks like reverse VSDJ > bair, I would say less of that since it staled the bair and it got predictable.
5. a lot of approaching with ASC/ASC cancel shieldgrab, sometimes you would asc cancel shieldgrab and he wouldn't even be in front of you lol >_< (I've been working on this myself, along with 1 and 4)

basically just watch that you're not letting yourself get into patterns, and use SDC more to confuse your opponent and make them think you're going to SDR, then dashgrab/short hop spaced fair or do something random afterwards lol

hope this helps :)

"i play differently in tourney" is a john that needs to be eliminated.

If youre not playing the same way you would in tourney, its really not good practice for you, and you wont get any better.

i time sans jigglypuff out in friendlies. Cause we play to win, because thats how we get better.

I **** my controller to break out of grabs in friendlies.

Tesh, later today, I'll take a stab. Assuming Diablo II doesn't get me caught again.

Game is still as good as I remember playing it when I was 12.

I play the passive-aggressive style against Olimar in friendlies. That and I want to improve on that style of play against Olimar so I can switch between passive and passive-aggressive.

this dude nike, I cant tell if hes a terrible player that does good stuff sometimes or a good player that just has moments of ***********.

like the only reason that match was even close is cause he let him self get killed at 28% off a grab and he fell into a charged f smash. he pretty much spent the rest of the match ****** you.

omg I have been telling people this for ages! lol!

Couldn't agree more.

Sandbagging is no excuse for losing.

also I agree with what wedge said, Nike's getting better but also lucky.

plus he gets destroyed by Olimar and you'd figure that should be an easy matchup for marth xD

Espy's fsmashes have magic in them. A little voice in my head appears and says "run to me".

I cannot refuse.

Oh, and I was getting lucky. I got ***** in hours worth of friendlies. The moment I said "Hey, let's a record a set so that I can ask the marth boards what I'm doing wrong", the smash gods descended upon Espy.

Paw loved the trips, Nike.
Every single one of them.

Hypnosmash to trip is clearly a new combo.

How trippy.

Marth is probably my best character other than Sonic (might even be better, I haven't played in a while). These vids will be helpful, I'm sure.

Holding side-B against Cheese until he quits.
I just think vs marth you were missing a lot of easy punishes and not camping at range with spindash enough. Marth is pretty manageable for a sonic with a good camping game.
just never recover with spindashing to the stage, space bears, camp with spindash and wait for his approach, and just tighten up your punishing and you should be fine.

this had better be good, Im not watching AZ vs kain and kingtoon to watch these vids...

game 1 vs jpuff.
you pretty much went from doing everything possible wrong, to learning almost everything about the matchup in 1 game. spindash is really bad against puff. you pretty much have to run around and camp for back airs, and only go for spindashes and dash attacks when you know shes going to land. Shield grab will almost never ever work so get good at tilting and aerialing out of shield.
also, spindash clanks with roll out, thats good to know, I actually was not aware of that.
Only thing I would say is, its jigglypuff, you dont need to get greedy and go for big damage, it looked like you were trying the spindash footstool loop. No reason to do that against puff, just aerial. and go back to your hit and run game.
its hard to give you player critique because fighting jigglypuff doesnt really test yoru skills as a player, if you know how to play the matchup, and execute correctly, you win. doesnt really matter how good you are.
lastly, two big things against puff. GR to full jump double jump fair is guaranteed on puff. and if they do anything thats not airdodge, you can grab release, turn around, jump, and double jump a bair. and itll beat whatever she does. and 2, dont be afraid to side b camp, initial invincibility will beat all her moves. just like sonic dittos.

game 2
why are you backthrowing puff offstage? 1. its puff she wants to be in the air anyway, and 2, its not like youre gonna go offstage to chase her anyway, so why? and if you are going to try to hit her offstage, your best bet is to homing attack and try to time the release of it to coincide with her jumping, that will give you the best accuracy.
like I said, puff wants to be in the air, so you might want to work on your down throw game against her. either that or just take the 12% up throw, cus you arent gonna get much in the way of follow ups out of that.
you starting getting antsy for the last kill. and you almost got hard read ***** for it at the end.
If you get on a platform above a puff charging roll out, just taunt. concerning roll out its usually best to play the better safe than sorry game

when you spring try to avoid airdodging into the ground at a spot where she can fair you.

I really, really, really hate you guys for STILL not posting in the right format.
God damn it.

Please submit videos in this format:

-[URL to video] - Name of Sonic Player (Sonic) vs. Name of Player (Char) [Number the matches when necessary]

Ex:
Snake:
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=nwlke7Ekv1k - Puffball (Sonic) vs. Morningstar (Snake) 3
Just LOOK at it:

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=nwlke7Ekv1k - Puffball (Sonic) vs. Morningstar (Snake) 3
or, if you want it dumbed down FURTHER (somehow):

URL - Player (Sonic) vs. Player (Character) #
Please tell me what's so hard about posting videos in that format? Because I'm dying to know.

Finally updated the archive. Took longer than usual because I finally set up a Checkpoint Date. All videos prior to November 1st, 2010 were bumped into the "~Old" sections.

Bunch of new videos added in.

Oh, and if you don't post in the actual, proper format from here on out, I'm ignoring your videos and not adding them into the archive. It's as simple as that. Ignoring the checkpoint fix, updating still took about 20-30 minutes longer than it was supposed to just because people didn't post videos in the proper format.

Which means that until everyone learns how to do that, I'm gonna have to post this obnoxiously at the end of every single one of my posts in here:

How to Post Videos said:
URL - Player (Sonic) vs. Player (Character) #
If somehow it's STILL confusing, then just copy the format step by step from the videos already IN the archive.
Otherwise, I'm going to murder something.

It's gotta be some kind of magic. Some type of sorcery that allows every Sonic main alive to ignore such a simple little rule, or something.

Trent did that intentionally. :v

I only got 2 matches from DMT4. Which is a shame, I wanted those matches with Dakpo and BadKarma.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfHPW5MtUsc - Joshua (Sonic) vs. Raikou (Diddy) 1
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYWY264eiYs - Joshua (Sonic) vs. Raikou (Diddy) 2

Every match I play it seems like there are moments where I am doing absolutely nothing when I could be doing something else. I really want to get over that. And also get over the habit of "Punish laggy/shielded move with grab/Smash Attack." At least my Glide Tossing is somewhat proficient.
