It's too bad Deg quit playing (for the most part), I played him today, and he has one of the best connections I've played with. Both him and ShadowDragon live in Florida, yet I get almost no delay. I've played people closer than that that lag more.

So rather than ranking how good they are, you're going to rank their tournament success -which won't accurately show how well they do anyways, when you consider that every area in the US has different players with different skill levels, and that brawl is more popular in some areas than others.

My point? You can only suggest who the better players are. You do this by simply watching a person's matches versus other players recognized as being good. If anything, rank them this way.

Chudat plays with some of the best and he does well. That's what makes him good- not how well he places, or how many tourneys he goes to.

Hmm...you made a very valid point. In fact, you made alot of very valid points. It is true that players skill are based on the overall opinion of the smash community as a whole. I myself have always thought that you only are as good as the people around you say you are. Now as far as Chudat goes, i think hes an amazing player and he definitely deserves to be at 1st or second on this list. Thats my opinion, however.

But you have to keep in mind that there are other players in the U.S. that practice just as much as he does if not more. George is one hell of a great kirby. Hell, in my opinion, hes about on the same pace as Chudat. He ranks well, he plays alot, he has the vids to show how good he is. People agree hes one hell of a great Kirby player as well. T1mmy is also a very well known organizer and tourney player in his area. But let me get to my point.

My point is, not every1 has an M2K, Azen, Chudat and Ken competing in their state. Those type of players are fairly uncommon. But that DOESNT mean that they should be ranked low just because they cant always compete with people of that level. They put in the effort. They put in the playing time. They compete. They rank very well. Yes I have seen vids of Chudat(almost every1 i can possibly find to the best of my abilities). You dont know for a fact and cant possibly know for a fact if Chudat would beat these players in a tourney until they ACTUALLY play each other. Some matchups would be more easy to decide than others.

I can't and am not going to make a biased decision for Chudat, t1mmy, etc. to be first just because they are more popular than other players. Thats not fair. Id rather let the information and videos of tournaments and events let me decide. But keep in mind, im talking about offline, not online.

Also keep in mind that the game has just came out this year. Theres still plenty of time to change and fix things with this ranking system. This is just to get started, you see. ^_^

No joke. It blows my mind how much better I could be if I didn't live in a crappy state, and had good players to consistently practice with, even if just in friendlies. I mean, when Brawl came out, I was pretty darn good, without having ever played anything other than level 9 computers (64->melee->brawl) or looking online for tips of any sort. I improved a lot by coming to smashboards and other smash sites, and looking on youtube.

Your point is, let's count the amount of times I've played offline (excluding my 9 year old brother, I hope you'll agree that doesn't count for much):

-Smash and Coffee 2, Winona Lake, IN in July: I won about half the games in pools, then lost my first game in the brackets, and first game in loser's bracket. There were approximately 27 people in that tournament. (Anther won this one)

-Going over the venue coordinator's house (I met him online through that tourney, he lives like 10 minutes away from me) to play Smash for a few hours.

-Going over his house again a couple weeks later to play Smash for a couple more hours. Keep in mind this guy placed lower than even I did. He's a nice guy, but he doesn't play Smash all that often. And now he's moving to Arizona.

Well Thought Out Name, Winona Lake, IN on Sept 12-13th: Same venue, bigger crowd. About 45 people competed in singles, I placed tied for 17th, losing my first match, winning once in loser's bracket, and then losing. (Anther won this one too!)

SUMMARY: I've only played offline 4 times. I have noone to practice with. All I have is potential, and little to use it on :/

What was I trying to say again? O_o I dunno, good luck ranking the top 10 XD
It would be easy if everyone lived in the same area, but it's almost impossible to compare them like this when they'll never play each other.

Aw man, your one state away from me proving you wrong off line. DX

Oh well, I'll say this list is more like who is the best well known Kirby main that won a good amount of tournments in the US not who's the best Kirby in the..... world. You know what I mean right.

Some people are, some people arn't. And I miss you ShadowDragonG and your Brawl video's. T_T
Yes i do know what you mean...But I honestly know how talented I am with Kirby...Man if I had the proper materials to upload Vids....I'd let the world Experience my wrath...Well if anyone can Beat a skilled Fox player in 45 seconds...without them killing themselves...using the 3 stock 8 minute time limit...them maybe your on my level....until then I am going to be so confident it's going to seem Cocky....Me Sawwy....hehe

Ranking players is difficult enough on a regional basis, but including people from around the world would be extremely trying. I know this because of the huge amount of work t0mmy has done for our state's Power Ranking. He includes every tournament attended for the Season, looks at *every* player's results, averages scores for all the tournaments, and then publishes the list based on the numbers. On top of it, he has broken the results into Local, Regional, West Coast, and Total to show a broader look of results. Additionally, we had a group of panalists get together to determine a ranking based on opinion of skill.

I guess what I'm saying is that a good way of doing this is from more than one perspective. You could, for instance, rank people based on their region, based on tournament results, based on popular opinion, and based on WFC on-line ladders.

(if you want my personal opinion, I think the best way of ranking people is who they play against in tournaments, not where they place overall. Taking top 8 in a 100-man scrub tourney is unlikely to be better than taking 25th at a major tournament like Critical Hit 4).

I beat a Wolf player in 35 seconds using Kirby. And it was a ranked gamebattles match. I guess that means I'm good. lol.

Not to doubt that you have skill, but that Wolf sucks(ed).

Pretty funny when you went to suck him and he just flew. Mind games, anyone?

I know the Wolf player wasn't good. I just wanted to show Y.B.M. that I beat his record of 3 stocking someone under 45 seconds with 3 stock, and Kirby not losing a single stock and at a low 49%. Even then, that doesn't show my true skill, because it wasn't against a good player. If I did that to a great player like Chu Dat for example, then I'd be one cocky son of a mother and proclaim myself as the best Kirby player.

I havent updated in a while. The reason was i did take into consideration what dan said, and i know there has to be a way to fix this top players ranking. But i think i may have found a better way other than the top 10 in the U.S. But the online one is gonna stay the same.

Now then from my own knowledge all i have is(in no specific order):

Chudat
T1mmy
Gonzo
GeorgeTHPS
Gness
PIMPSLAP
Twilight Kirby
~KoS~ Kirby
JLB Future Champ
Storm92
Percon
Asdioh
and i guess myself kinda as far as tourneys go.

Remember, this is offline, not online. Does any1 else know any good tourney players and do you happen to have good vids of them? That way we can start a little top 10 thread. And we can update it as time goes by and more tourneys go by. What do yall think of that? Would yall be willing to help out w/ this top 10 ranking system?

I still like the name of this thread, which is why everyone gets oh "Im pretty good too!"
Should just be named to "Good kirby players" or something. Plus, theres more then 10.

Also, heh goodluck PIMPSLAP. Ive been finding myself playing lots of MKs here at school, been doing lots of stones into tornados too. Seems to work if I am high enough. And yes, I tend to FSmash a lot, seems to work. One of our few semi range moves.
