It might be because movie night is tonight for me and my friends but I'm imagining a world where movies, shows, books, or hell, even games themselves no longer get releases because all information of them becomes public when in development as eberyone will know what's up. Kinda... Dull

Looking closer at the Mario Kart 9/10/whatever trailer, you can tell they put a lot of thought into the visual design and animations. There’s obviously been talks about the characters, but there’s also a decent amount of squash and stretch, cartoony effects, and more expressiveness in the characters. Just look at how that kart bounces, it’s so toony!

It reminded me of an interview back when Wonder was coming out, where they said that the game’s new artstyle and focus on charming animations was a direct result of the movie’s success. They figured, after coming off of a beautifully animated film, audiences would expect that same level of detail in the games.

So it seems this push for a more cartoony style is something they want to carry forward to more Mario games, not just Wonder. Though it could just be a coincidence. If we see a new 3D Mario with a similar style then we’ll know for sure.

Either way, between Sonic and now Mario, it’s interesting to see these game franchises embrace the elements of their successful films. It wasn’t too long ago that video game movies were all flops and disasters.

Yes. People who make information public that should never have been secret are the scum of the earth. Never trust Kamiya kids.

Eh, the gap between Samus Returns and Dread wasn't that long. Especially since Prime 4 was supposed to release between them, before development restarted. Dread also sold better than most Metroid titles from what I remember. Again, I'm also hoping for Mega Man 12, or MMX9. Leaks mentioned Onimusha in 2022, and we only just saw it recently and is coming out 2026. So the 2022 Mega Man Taisen in those Capcom leaks could be something, assuming that wasn't related to Battle Network getting a new PVP in the Legacy Collection. If that is the case, then I dunno. We might see Starforce or Legends getting the Legacy treatment. Hell, Capcom's been releasing SOME form of collection most years since 2018 or so.

F-Zero's overall controls aren't that complex, it's more so that the tracks are tricky, at least in GX. As much as I like that game.

The fact that DK got redesigned makes me think we'll see SOMETHING more substantial with him soon. Kirby games come out a lot, but a 3D might take a bit, though Robobot I think had a remake leaked, but I don't know true that is.


Just because people lack self control and need a constant need of information, doesn't mean said information need to be made available right away. I do agree that Kamiya acts like a jerk online. It's just that people aren't entitled to **** right off the bat. Even if I'm excited to see new games.

On the one hand, I'm, again, not a big fan of leaks at all, whether they're genuine or not. Hell, discourse and toxic discussions over them are part of the reason I got so tired of Smash speculation in the first place.

On the other hand, what Kamiya's wishing on genuine leakers here is very much still overkill.

Kamiya works in the industry the leaks are coming from, of course he isn't gonna be happy about that sort of culture existing at all. Imagine how he'd feel if him being at Capcom, reforming Clover and making a new Okami got leaked.

I enjoy a good leak as much as the next guy but like-

It’s still a crime, dude. Leakers aren’t unsung heroes, they’re attention seekers

I just think all information should be public as soon as it comes into existence.

That’s a tough question, my guess is that it might be a Year 2 title with a focus on Switch era releases that got nothing / spirits in Ultimate.

Depends on what Sakurai's secret project is and if Nintendo is expecting us to hold off with backwards compatible Ultimate until it's ready.

Smash doesn't care about that, the only one that actually felt like it was representing the system it was on was Smash for 3DS.
