With that, here is an unrelated, but possibly fun thing I want to speak of about Smash Bros.

In regards to playable characters that aren't Pokemon, and maybe assist trophies, too, what Pokemon type would you all give to such non-Pokemon characters? For example...

Mario - Fire
Luigi - Electric
Sonic - Normal

Assuming VGChartz sales data is as close to accurate as possible:

Brawl: 13.22

4-3ds: 9.65

4-Wiiu: 5.38


WiiU flopped, both as a console and for sales. It was good by WiiU standards, but bad by Smash standards. 3DS did very well. Combined, they're about 1.7mil more than Brawl which... yeah it's an increase, but Nintendo counts them as 2 separate games despite being "Smash 4" so like, no it didn't outsell Brawl. If you count both versions then it did, but Nintendo doesn't.

Spin it however you want, smash 4 is smash 4. It sold more than Brawl.

You're absolutely free to view it as such, I won't try to stop you or nothing, but lumping the two games together is akin to back when Nintendo/3rd party companies would make console games and then make Gameboy/GBA/DS games with the same name, despite playing nothing alike to their console brethern. I mean, sure they have the same name, but other than that, they're basically entirely different games.

Really wanna get them all including the Dark Horse Comics of Godzilla. As well as Gamera. Those probably cost a fortune tho...

I keep saying that if MS just follows through with the idea that “everything is an XB” it could easily be the king of software developers. All they have to do is get game pass on mobile. In 2023, roughly 1.1billion phones were sold (it’s only gonna go up from there). This doesn’t include the millions of rival consoles, tablets or PCs. MS/XB has a massive opportunity to make crazy money if they can just get gamepass on everything.

Well, it’s obviously because Nintendo is going to finally reveal Smash at the Summer Games Fest 2025 in June!

Well, it’s obviously because Nintendo is going to finally reveal Smash at the Game Awards 2025 in December!

I’m not gonna lie, this was me during the switch 1. Smash was all I cared about and I was just waiting for it to happen. To be honest if we hadn’t gotten ultimate when we did I probably wouldn’t have even bought a switch until much much later, and my gaming habits would be significantly different.

I’m in a different place now. And even though I still love fighting games, my disappointment with recent titles in the genre has left me less hopeful. And the next Smash is gonna have to do a lot to keep me interested.

Then all that’s needed is getting gamepass ultimate available in all regions (especially China) and rivals consoles. The money is there for the taking. I don’t see Nintendo or Sony doing this yet.

I've heard some tale that Pokémon Legends Z-A isn’t being built to take advantage of the hardware improvements of the Switch 2. Not surprising but also, don't make me buy a whole console for a game that could work on the Switch 1.
