Has anyone else noticed the weird way Mario Wonder works with profiles? Instead of selecting a profile in the Switch Menu, like literally every other switch game, the game boots up manually and you select a profile in the game itself. Just kinda weird to me.
All the SNK games ive played on Switch do this as well.

Having grown up landlocked in Arizona without a lot of seafood in my diet, it feels so weird to be that squid is eaten in so many parts of the world.

To me squids feel like unknowable eldrich creatures of the deep. Almost eldrich in a way. And people are like "oh yeah they taste great fried". Good sir that is the spawn of Cthulu.

Still not over the culture shock of having moved to the far distant land of California and yes, I have been playing a lot of Splatoon lately
Giant Squid and Colossal Squid are quite possibly the closest species we know of to being real life sea monsters.

I think they were even considered cryptids or legends for a while because they're so rarely sighted. Colossal Squid in particular weren't even discovered (or at least had no solid proof of their existence) until 1925, and there's only been a few confirmed sightings by humans since.

I’m up to the last few post game levels in Wonder and…

I don’t wanna play them.

I don’t want this wonderful game to end :drsad:
Climb to the Beat is gonna keep me from beating all the levels, I swear. At least playing online lets me see all the other people stuggling so I dont feel as bad

Nintendo has released new community guidelines for game tournaments of their games and to say the least they are ****ing disgusting and reek of anti-consumer
Stuff like no prize money over $5k, no being profitable, no sponsors, participant limits, them being able to shut them down if they feel they should, and so many more unnecessary restrictions

What the ****ing hell does Nintendo have against their games have any amount of a thriving competitive community? I haven't been mad at this company this much before, and they've pulled a lot of **** in the past.

"Nintendo cares about the community"

Well, the executives certainly don't.

So on my shift today, came across a dog owner I see frequently who’s dog Sasha is always excited to see me to the point where she likes to run up to greet me, was also with her other dog named Cooper.
Cooper was way more anxious, while Sasha attached to me like Velcro, poor Cooper was trembling and hid his tail between his legs. I offered them both treats and Sasha took hers right away, Cooper was apprehensive at first.
After a little bit, he worked up the courage to take the treat out of my hand and his owner was shocked as I was the first person he willingly took a treat from. I was so proud of him and I’m ngl I got a bit choked up after they left. Small thing but thought it was worth sharing.

Granted, idk why these companies do want to kill off their scenes, Capcom did something similar with the capping of prize pools and then weird rules about profits and sponsorships before SF6 which crippled small scale tourneys. It's like they wanna save the big stuff for themselves and rake in the rewards for big profit and don't wanna be threatened by some small scale organizer possible outdoing them.

Idk just a hunch.

I'm not even sure what Nintendo was trying to do with these new Tournament rules

every other dumbass decision regarding Tournaments Nintendo have made have at least been obviously about money. This one is just "No, we want less people to play our game, **** you specifically."

At the end of the day, they're still a boomer Japanese company, so they will do boomer japanese company things.

Idk what their end goal is but it's gonna hurt them in the long run and it's up to them to realize how unbelievably stupid it is (they won't)

Competitive play kills a games fun imo. Especially when changes are made to a game based on competitive players opinions.

Those people should still be allowed to play the game how they want though. I’m just jealous that they get devs to listen to them and get huge events dedicated to specifically them.

I imagine it's just them wanting to control their brand.

Plus their usual waging war against mods and emulation.

I expect the stuff about Brand and mod control, that is typical for Nintendo.

The stipulations with ****ing school and charity events is what leaves me scratching my head. (and the ban on all third party accessories.)

Well then.
I just finished the Netflix One Piece series.
I thought the characterization was well done and the same goes for the world building and pacing.
The fight scenes is hit or miss as some of them lack the commitment and impact the action should really have.
I am considering watching the anime after this.

I also beat Demon Turf today.

Games I've beaten this year:

Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope
AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES
Splatoon 3
Wario Land 3
Kirby's Dreamland 2
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Tales of Vesperia
AI: THE SOMNIUM FILES Nirvana Initiative
Goldeneye 007
The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages
The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons
Kirby Super Star Stacker
Demon Turf

DLC beaten:

Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed
Sonic Frontiers: Final Horizons
