Yeah. That was a stupid thing to say.Because it's the Japanese equivalent of western cartoons? That's like asking why are there soo many cartoons.
Really thought it would be funny.

The real answer though is that a lot of anime are meant specifically to sell a manga/light novel/video game.Yeah. That was a stupid thing to say.

It pretty much is Marvel, but with less property rights baggage. Mind you I'm saying less, not none at all. Which is what started the VS series with X-Men Children of the Atom anyways.what do you think the western version of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom would be? Specifically the western equivalent to Tatsunoko.
If I'm not mistaken, he was also the director of Rival Schools and Power Stone? Or was at the very least involved with those two series duologies. He was one of the major dudes from back in the day that was still there.Hideaki Itsuno, known for Devil May Cry and Dragon's Dogma, is leaving Capcom
Doesn't that have a cursed dealing with Limited Run Games? Seems like any physical release would be FOMO filled cause that's their whole deal and it sucks. Though digitally it should be fine.Man, I want a news update on Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution.
I want to replay Shantae 2-5 but I won't until I get my hands on this game.
Why are there so many anime?
After World War 2 Japan pivoted towards technology being one of its primary exports, one of their biggest developments being semiconducters and computer chips years ahead of most of the world. Because of this, consumer electronics became a hugely popular phenomenon in Japan, including television. Anime became a relatively cheap way to fill up the airwaves and the country was already experiencing a huge boon in manga after the war (partially inspired by American comics that were popular brought over during the post war occupation). Adapting manga became one of the easiest ways to create anime due to the marketing tie-ins (publishers often would foot the bill on these adaptations to advertise the manga, as Shroob alluded to).The real answer though is that a lot of anime are meant specifically to sell a manga/light novel/video game.
While pretty much every anime falls into this category, there's a difference between like, One Piece with hundreds of episodes, or Konosuba that gets 2-3 seasons. One's an ongoing series that fully intends to follow the anime and tell the whole story(with filler), while the other's only meant to sell you on the product being shown so you go out and buy the book.
Batman Ninja was aight. Blade's anime was kind of cool. Suicide Squad I couldn't care less about and Rick and Morty feels like something to actively piss ****** off cause they could've done ATHF or a third season of Black Dynamite.Ngl I do feel some fatigue with studios making western properties into anime, primarily the ones that add nothing new to the table besides anime artstyle.
Or maybe the Rick and Morty anime alone just bothers me that much. Now that feels like a ploy for Redditors that clap for Gulp ****to
Samurai Jack would be perfect but tbh there is zero reason to do so, unless they wanna change the ending so Ashi lives like the game did.Batman Ninja was aight. Blade's anime was kind of cool. A real Spider-Man anime that has vibes from the Sentai Series or the 90's shows or Spectacular could work. Teen Titans was practically one, and X-Men had anime intros in Japan's dub, so they're halfway there.
Anime Ben 10 might go stupid, I dunno. Samurai Jack could, though the OG series is such a clear mix of eastern and western animation influences with live action films and Frank Miller comics it's hard to say if leaning in any of these directions would make it feel off.
Yeah, LRG does that for their physical stuff (I managed to order one) but the game is also getting a digital release (WayForward instead will be handling that version)Doesn't that have a cursed dealing with Limited Run Games? Genndy mentioned the game's ending is canon, so Jack just need to do a 100% to save his girlfriend.Samurai Jack would be perfect but tbh there is zero reason to do so, unless they wanna change the ending so Ashi lives like the game did.
The distinction is a bit silly anyway as for much of the 80s and early 90s American cartoons were animated in Japan until Korea became a more viable (read: cheaper) alternative for labor. American and Japanese animation have a long history of overlap and influence; the recent shift to calling American productions “anime” is mostly marketing because Americans think of anime as “mature” animation even though most anime in Japan is for children and family audiences.Ngl I do feel some fatigue with studios making western properties into anime, primarily the ones that add nothing new to the table besides anime artstyle.

Yeah, if the Strike in the Animation industry wasn't mainly focused on dealing with Gen AI BS, we'd also try to get at least a few companies to rely less on foreign studio outsourcing. Not that the Japanese and namely Korean ones aren't good. Just that we should allow more US animators more positions avaiable, AND it'll give more people more experience. The distinction is a bit silly anyway as for much of the 80s and early 90s American cartoons were animated in Japan until Korea became a more viable (read: cheaper) alternative for labor. The shift to CG animation in the 21st century was also to undercut the unions. Traditional animators had a union, CG animators didn't and it was easier to outsource labor that way. This is in my opinion why Japan still struggles to move to CG; it's still not significantly cheaper because animators in Japan already get paid starvation wages as is. I think a lot of people don't realize that anime has historically been kept going by animators who are worked inhuman hours for low pay. Generally speaking these animators are diehard otaku who love the medium so much they will kill themselves to work in it.Yeah, if the Strike in the Animation industry wasn't mainly focused on dealing with Gen AI BS, we'd also try to get at least a few companies to rely less on foreign studio outsourcing. That just means they think you look young.Lately people been asking me if I finished high school. Today I get questioned if my ID is fake.
I'm 22.

I mean yeah I do look young, but young enough to be a damn high schooler? That just means they think you look young.
I hope at least.
This could go real hard, the best looking series waa the OG which had an anime inspired look, if they kinda lean further into the creepyness of the series like they wanted to for Alien Force then we could have an all timerAnime Ben 10 might go stupid
If it helps I used to get that too (not the fake ID stuff that's wild) but not anymore. Which is strange because my face hasn't changed that much in recent yearsLately people been asking me if I finished high school. Today I get questioned if my ID is fake.
I'm 22.

Bro are you okay?I know it's not going to surprise anyone but
**** when I was your age people were asking me if I was my sister's dad.
**** having grey hair begin to form in my mid 20s.
It's worseBro are you okay?
I actively shave regularly so it surprises me when people correctly guess my age.Ever since my late teens I feel like I've perpetually looked mid 20s. When I was younger people thought I was older and now that I'm older people generally think I'm younger. Depends on my facial hair though, I have a bit of a babyface and when I grow out the beard it adds a few years.
That is correct. Itsuno was also involved with a number of other past Capcom fighting game franchises along with Rival Schools and Power Stone which included Star Gladiator, Darkstalkers Chronicle: The Chaos Towers as well as being planner for Street Fighter Alpha and Jojo's Bizarre Adventures. If I'm not mistaken, he was also the director of Rival Schools and Power Stone?
