There's a big story to how it was found. Apparently, the photos were taken back in the early 2000s during the renovation of a store in Wisconsin. Right now, only three photos of the room during the renovation process are known (and one of them is just a black and white copy of the most well known photo).

The building itself has been around since at least the 70s, and ever since the renovation was complete, the room was converted into a RC car track room and has since no longer resembled how it once did. But the second photo + a few older ones of the original furniture store along with the site that they were originally posted at confirm that the original Backrooms photo and the ones seen in the other photos are all one and the same.

So yeah, this is actually insane.

So what's even left for internet mysteries lol.

Yeah, this is a huge find for lost media.

Wasn't the first one found? Either way, the origins of Jeff the Killer's original image are still completely unknown, so that's definitely the current big one.

There'll probably be more lost media and bizarre mysteries for the internet to try and solve over time, though. Just because the internet exists now doesn't mean that everything out there going forward is going to be extensively documented, at least at first.

Nah, I'm thinking of the one that goes "Like the Wind."

"Everyone Knows That" was the one found.... which was in an 80's porno... yeah, lol.

Okay, yeah, I've seen that one getting mentioned around Youtube while looking at other lost media or liminal location stuff and it's actually kind of absurd lmao.

I think I've also heard of the former one, though. That one's probably tied with Jeff for the big mystery now that the origins for the Backrooms' photo was finally found after several years.

Though, ngl, the fact that this song's to this day still unknown after like, a decade, is almost like, iconic in its own right. It's THE unknown song.

We haven't got a new DK game since that child fell into the Gorilla exhibit at the Cincinnati Zoo
Well of course there’s no new DK game,

Don’t you remember Nintendo hosting the public execution of DK after that?

Diddy was even quoted as saying “There is no country without Donkey Kong, he was like a brother to me!”

But people forget about such a troubled part of Nintendo’s history.

Okay, yeah, I think I've heard this one.

How it's origins and knowledge of the band who composed and played it became lost is beyond me since it actually sounds pretty good aside from maybe the singers singing too quietly.

You're gonna give Noi nightmares saying stuff like that. :4larry:

I'm not really a fan of what amounts to age discrimination made socially acceptable.

Part of my job involves being part of a group looking at how AI might change our work. It's got quite a large age range for the participants and there isn't much correlation between age and AI awareness.
Young people? Expressing prejudice? Impossible.

Now if you'll excuse me I need to go own some neckbeards by making jabs at their appearances. I'm just that progressive.

For pride month I decided to get cultured and watch some gay weeb ****

It's funny seeing this and realizing this is like, a cultural blueprint for a lot of anime, all I know is the car scene and that this deals with heavy ****
I watched this show in 2022 and I'm still not sure it was real

I can't blame you, 5 episodes in and I'm losing my mind at what I'm seeing
There are some "filler" comedy episodes later down the line and they are ****ing insane, the tonal whiplash is probably not what most consider good writing but they make me laugh so hard that I can't help but love them

Tonal whiplash can be absolute ****ing peak, if a piece of fiction is able to make me feel such a wide range of emotions then I feel that only serves as a compliment when done deliberately, I'd say it's part of why Delicious in Dungeon has become so popular due to how well it can switch from goofy lightheartedness to serious drama to black comedy and back

It’s the beginning of June. Usually, this is when we’d get our first bit of news for a new Pokémon game since its announcement back in February.

Things are obviously different this time around. I wonder if we’ll even see Z-A before next year.

I don't think that's necessarily tonal whiplash as much as having a tone that's maliable. Most of my favorite franchises and pieces of fiction (One Piece, Pokémon, Avatar, Pikmin, Kirby, etc) are ones that balance goofy and lighthearted elements with darker moments and undertones pretty seamlessly.

The tonal shift in Utena isn't exactly organic, at least from what I can remember
