I only have a magic school in my story as both a deconstruction of Hogwarts as well a vehicle for certain outside events of my narrative to happen. And it’ll only be on the side as my protagonist’s little brother will be the one attending at the time of my main story, though my protagonist did also drop out of said school out of her own volition
School is a vessel for conformity and malicious abuse of authority. Not to mention the bullying. Even if I tell stories about younger characters I will never willingly put them through that. Heck it’s gonna be a tough sale to put my real kids through that hell as well.

At least books are safe.
with how Spidey has been suffering, I need a strike for them as well
Oh hell, here we go
Dang, and here I was right about to cast Ryan Gosling in my new game.

Shame.
you might still get your dream ignoring the money part if an agreement is made before striking time. Otherwise…lots of 2024 games getting ****ed up

also of course WB and Disney are some of the companies involved

And send my kids to be tortured for the better part of their formative years? No way.
They won’t have the same experiences or the same feelings about it unless you force those feelings upon them.

How do you expect them to make friends if you keep them at home aside from praying your neighbors have kids around the same age?

That too.

My mom never let me go to public school because she was horrified I'd be bullied due to my autism.

Now I'm 32 years old, and all my friends and social skills are done through a screen and keyboard, and I'm SUPER awkward in person because I never gained those skills and have to constantly force myself to work on improving them.

God my old church felt like I was in an episode of Joel Olsteen. Horrible horrible stuff.
Being raised in that environment is honestly why I take a way more hands off approach to religion. When you grow up seeing soo much corruption and blatant misinformation and racism, it's just exhausting.

One of my group leaders that I had a lot of respect for straight up got stripped of all his title because he dated and married outside the church. Mind you, this girl was also a Christian and she was a total sweetheart, but since she was from another church they pratically kicked him off and it's been downhill since. Long story short, he left shortly after.

Been super wary of churches since that day. I still do believe in Jesus and God and all that, but idk on these so called places of worship. They don't even preach about God anymore, it's all about whatever they saw on Fox News or Boomer Facebook and then go off on rants how demonic the world is. Can't stand what church has become.

I'm still trying to wrack my brain around what shiny Alpha I want to hunt.

It needs to be transferrable to SwSd, BDSP and SV, so Ursaring is completely out sadly.

I guess Gardevoir is an option but I've never really liked Gardevoir.
Get a shiny Scyther, get the ribbons in SWSH and BDSP, and then evolve it into kleavor.

And YOU TOO can have your soul saved as long as you fund our lavish lifestyles.

Maybe Dante was right and the church really is rotten, and he lived over 500 years ago.

Yeah.

Also congrats you got me to rant about my religious trauma, though compared to someone else in my family I got off easy. But whew what I place I went to.

Odd. I have autism, and I went to public school. I don't remember getting bullied much there, but I did go to a private school where I was bullied. But yeah, that's the story of my life, part of it, anyway.

thanks for all the birthday wishes!
See I can't get behind the take that school in a show = boring because Ned's Declassified takes place in a school and I will not stand for slander of a top 2 live action Nick show.
Ned’s declassified worked so well because it was basically a live action cartoon. The antics they got into in the show felt surreal yet relatable and made the entire school a much more entertaining setting.

Preliminary thoughts on BDSP now that I finally got my hands on it.

I am SO glad I got it omega discounted because this game really does feel like a bargain bin Pokemon game.
BDSP was a game I could only play before bed because it put me to sleep
i think i'm defective or something. i liked BDSP, it's a perfectly serviceable game. A pretty good way to play the sinnoh games on a modern device. worth $60? hell no, but i think $40 is reasonable enough.

Okay, I'm gonna be blunt and do what might be a hot take, here. Homeschooling really isn't that bad, at least not necessarily. I was homeschooled too, as were a few other people I know on here, and I mean outside of everyone who in this thread who mentioned being homeschooled earlier today.

I had a perfectly fine learning system and only struggled for a while at first only out of my own faults, such as laziness and not understanding the importance of some of the stuff I was being taught. And while my family was concerned about me being bullied as well, there were also concerns about a (life-threatening, mind you) food allergy I have as none of the local schools could guarantee safety about the food they served and IIRC may not have even allowed kids to bring in outside food like lunches their parents prepped for them. My mom still made sure I had the chance to make friends by going to social events with groups of fellow homeschooled kids, and while I wasn't on good terms with everyone I met there...I did make some great, genuine friends among them, two of them even became my best friends in later years of my life.

Homeschooling's not perfect, but it's not an entirely a worse alternative to school itself. It all depends on how it's handled, and having supplies from some homeschool programs is a huge help as well. Some of you like Snake had a bad experience with public schools growing up, and much like how that doesn't warrant bashing the entire system based, and some of you had a bad experience with being homeschooled. That doesn't mean either system is inherently and entirely bad. And frankly, neither should be bashed based solely on one's own experiences with either.

40 dollars is too much. I paid 15 dollars and thought that was a fair price. 20$ is honestly what this game should be. It'd be a good budget title for Pokemon fans.

I won’t deny that a positive homeschool experience is possible. But I think it takes a certain kind of parent to make sure everything goes smoothly, and most people who’re homeschooling aren’t that kind of parent.

And I love my mom with everything I got, she tried her best. But she really didn’t have any business homeschooling anyone.

More often than not, you’re probably gonna screw something up just doing it by yourself. So just send the kids to school
