I can't tell if this is sarcasm or not.

Either way, at times I feel like I'm one of the few people who actually liked Hexisde and the arcs relating to it lol.
I’m kind of exaggerating. But I had a horrible time in school at all levels so stories set there really turn me off. To the point where I have a hard time understanding why writers would willingly place their characters there.

Well it’s such a quintessential experience that makes the characters and their environment easily relatable, especially for the target audience. School aged children.

We forget that we’re grown ass adults and this stuff isn’t made for us anymore

When I was a very young kid I thought adult life would be like Family Guy. Including constantly referencing other things.

I turned 26 today! Was a pretty chill day. Got some eshop credit, so I can buy the dlc now! Going to finish getting my team ready when o can before playing.
Happy birthday!

I hated stuff set in school while I was in school because I hated school. It's one of the reasons I always hated the fact that everything made for kids starred kids because they always had to go to school. I guess that's unique to me though.

Happy birthday! May all your most wanted characters get into Smash!

The Total Drama franchise has historically had too much needless grossout for my liking.
That's totally fine too. But for the most part Disventure Camp tones down the gross-out a LOT. There's still some moments of it (episode 5 of season 1's eating challenge comes to mind, but that's also one of the best eps so far) but it's overall a LOT less egregious

I'm still trying to wrack my brain around what shiny Alpha I want to hunt.

It needs to be transferrable to SwSd, BDSP and SV, so Ursaring is completely out sadly.

I guess Gardevoir is an option but I've never really liked Gardevoir.

See I can't get behind the take that school in a show = boring because Ned's Declassified takes place in a school and I will not stand for slander of a top 2 live action Nick show.
what’s the other live action Nick show at the top? And why is it either the iCarly shows, Drake & Josh, Kenan & Kel, House of Anubis or The Troop?

I mean... you have to work really hard to make school interesting... and not traumatic.
I mean a lot of them do, it's a pretty safe location to use but you can pretty much throw it in any enviroment and it works because of how broad it is.

But as you said, you have some bad hangups on school life. That's not an issue on the writing persay, that's more of your personal disdain due to past experiences, which is fair, a lot of people didn't, but it's a part of every kids life so it's relatable to them more often than not.

On the topic of school shows...
Looking back I'm not the biggest fan of Disney's Recess. I mean, it's definitely not awful, but with the exceptions of Gretchen, Mikey and sometimes Gus the main characters make me wanna eat a wall. ESPECIALLY Spinelli. I hate that little pitstain. WAY too violent for me to really sympathize with...but I'm not gonna go into a rant today. The Ashleys are the best characters. Recess definitely has a lot of nostalgic value to me but The Emperor's New School solos (Malina may have been my bi awakening)

I think it's good when a show makes a point to show that the characters are actually getting an education. Having a school setting, even if's not a central part of the show, is a good way to show that.

The main reason some shows like Phineas and Ferb and Gravity Falls were able to have school not be a major aspect or recurring location is because their stories took place over summer.

I only have a magic school in my story as both a deconstruction of Hogwarts as well a vehicle for certain outside events of my narrative to happen. And it’ll only be on the side as my protagonist’s little brother will be the one attending at the time of my main story, though my protagonist did also drop out of said school out of her own volition

Drake and Josh.
I’d place it that high myself if it wasn’t for iCarly. 2007 show was already great as is, but that 2021 sequel having the nerves to wrap up storylines and build upon what the old show tried to ignore has been amazing
