I was watching a video on YouTube of a scene from a movie that Charles Martinet appears in spitting out a whole lot of vulgarity (the movie is "Nine Months").

And it was a YouTube Kids video, lol.

You know. Mario games usually have some sort of "flight" power up, but such a thing has not been revealed for Mario Wonder.

All I'm saying is, either we haven't seen all the new power-ups yet, or there are going to be some more legacy power-ups hidden in the game. I know a lot of people would love to play with the Cape Feather again. And I'm partial to the Ice Flower.

Or they just decided to do something different this time. Just like nearly everything else in the game.

I've thought about watching One Piece someday but the sheer amount of extensive catching-up and binge watching I'd have to do would take up a lot more time than I probably have right now.

Maybe I'll try to watch it some day, but actually being up to speed with it would be a few years out from now.

Pro-tip: don't watch One Piece, read it. As I've said before the anime's pacing is awful and the production values are mostly mediocre pre-Wano to the point it's not worth sitting through. The manga on the other hand is consistently well drawn and you can read it at your own pace.

I know it's a meme at this point but I swear there is actually a huge difference in experience

if I ever checked out One Piece, I’d probably go through the Netflix one instead and wait until they pay the actors and writers so that I may finish it if I end up liking it.

tho if they did a One Piece Kai with the 4Kids rap then I’d fold

Alright, I'll consider reading it. Manga's not usually my thing, so we'll see, but I guess it can't be too different from the anime in style.

I'm not a big fan of anime in general so the few that I do watch are just more shows that I happen to like, and are often popular for good reason.

The Netflix One Piece is good but not as good as the original manga

Like, I think it's a good measuring stick for investment but it's no substitute in my eyes, even if it does miraculously get to the end of the manga

The live Action One Piece adaptation may feel very fastpaced due to skipping out a lot of stuff, having some less than stellar fights, being a bit more edgy like Zoro saying the good old F word and more violence/death and kinda missing the point on something on the final episode imo. However

This **** still made me cry and Luffy is ****ing perfect, the rubber effects are great, Iñaki is just outright Luffy and the project as a whole is so blatantly made with love for the series that any shortcomings it has can be easily forgiven. Cannot wait for Netflix to cancel this and blame it on the strikes or something

As the resident Tokusatsu enthusiast, how do you feel about the Fishmen?

I don’t feel like going through the manga of anything unless I’m desperate to know what happens next like with DBS and MHA (or to see how different something is from the anime…which is what I do only for the Dragon Ball franchise)

Good ****ing lord we are so ****ing back, they remind me of old school toku villains but with a budget and modernized, though seeing plenty of wirework and actors punching air but using camera angles to make it seem otherwise to get sent flying was a massive treat, I really hope Hollywood leans less on CG for everything soon, though the strikes may help in that regard lmao

If anything the strike is going to make everything lean more heavily on cg for everything. Lion King Remake style “live action” 3D animated films with AI generated scripts read by voice mimic bots.

Axe Hand Morgan was like a Sentai villain lol

Human face actor with a couple of accessories, loved it

Really makes me want more campy stuff like this from American productions
