Tbf an average moviegoer probably doesn't care about characters' comic origins all that much. Nobody I know knows anything about superheroes beyond characters like Batman or Spiderman; they just watch DC/Marvel films as fun action flicks.
That’s the power of the casual base. They just want to have a quality entertaining time at the cinema.

I guess so but these movies were never conceived as works of art
All movies are art. Same with games.

It was actually someone that died watching Infinity War not passing out.

A video game movie destroying Mufasa at the box office should send a message to Disney that video game movies are the wave and therefore we need Wreck It Ralph 3
Mufasa is a spin off IP. Losing to Sonic isn’t a big deal.

Nintendo now only has no more than 100 days to officially reveal the Switch 2.
I’m pretty sure January will be the reveal. Summer 2025 for the launch.

Also, as someone who's played a fair amount of Sonic games this year, is it an unpopular opinion to say that Modern Sonic bosses are like, significantly better than the classic style?
Not really? A bunch of Classic bosses devolve into getting hit and abusing i frames or taking too long to be allowed to hit something, Modern bosses generally require you to close the gap or wait until you can hit a boss, but can also have their times shaken off dependant on skill, like how the mech walkers in SA2 can get hit before they land if you make good use of the crates in the arena. They also generally have more moves which makes them more dynamic?

Anyways, here’s a unreleased Fortnite skin someone found in the wild:

I guess he had involvement in wiping out the Samurai.

You know the guy from The Last Samurai? This guy is his father. :troll:

Come to think of it, wasn't the word "Jedi" based on the word "Samurai"? I could be mistaken.

Long ago in a distant galaxy I, Darth Vader, master of the Dark Side, unleashed an unspeakable evil.

But a foolish Jedi warrior wielding a light saber stepped forth to oppose me.

One thing I really liked about Sonic 3 is how Maria was just…a kid.

I like Maria, but in the games she’s often portrayed as an absolutely angelic figure with the patience of a saint who’s wise beyond her years and she’s just this tragically beautiful sick little flower.

It can work for a series like Sonic, which has very exaggerated characters and personalities, but in the movie she’s shown to be a normal little girl. She’s rebellious, she’s got a sense of humor, she gets into trouble, but she’s still a good kid with a good heart. It makes her more relatable, and it makes her death more tragic because it hits closer to home. We all probably had a girl like her in our lives at one point, be it a friend or a relative or something.

They did a good job is what I’m saying.

Something I’ve been doing this year is collecting DVDs, here’s a list of film DVDs I added to my collection so far, (LOTR and MIB are the full trilogies btw)

I collect Blu-ray/4k myself but I really only focus on Comic book movies. I have over 100 CBMs. Joker Folie a Deux arrived today, Venom 3 arrives in January and Kraven arrives in Feb

I would post an image of the collection but Smashboards won’t accept any pic from my iphone. Does anyone know the file size limit and file type that Smashboards allows?

Tons of things can smell sweet. It just so happens that flowers tend to do that a lot :nifty:
Just part of the many reasons that flowers are a special interest of mine.

I'd go near real life flowers more often, but...bees...

True point about other things that smell sweet, though. Swirlix learns it for a reason. Plus bugs have their pheromone thing going on

Because normal people hate scents that are anything but sweet.
As a Flower Enthusiast (which probably disqualifies me as 'normal'), flowers cover a pretty big spectrum of pleasant aromas - 'sweet' is just one of them. Some are spicy, some are myrrh-like, some are fruity, some are tea-like...there's a lot out there but sweet is probably the most iconic (lilacs, for example, exhibit the 'sweet' kind of flower scent a lot, and people really like them). Which is probably why Pokemon focuses on 'sweet' specifically (as well as the reason that Noi mentions).

Yeah pretty irrelevant but I don't get to flex my flower know-how often :191:

Oh yeah thanks for reminding me that I also picked up James Gunn’s Suicide Squad film this year too

Also maybe try taking a screenshot copy and post that?

So finally seen the Sonic 3! It was awesome.

I'll have to rewatch it again though which I intend sometime in the new year to determine whether I like it more than the second or just as equally but overall. What a great way to end this year for movies.

So seeing the movie, I noticed they slightly changed some stuff from the games. Rather than being created from Black Doom's DNA created to be used as a cure for Maria's terminal illness, Shadow just landed on earth in a meteor. I wonder if that'll be explored in his spin-off? Also Gerald just worked at the facility and Shadow simply just befriended Maria who wasn't terminally ill. Her death also being accidental.

Also for some reason I feel this version of Amy will be more like her Sonic Boom incarnation in terms of personality, not as fangirl obsessive, but the mystery remains until the fourth movie is how did and why is Amy on earth now? Are Mobians perhaps deciding to start moving to earth? That's something I'd like to see which would be a good way to introduce other characters like Vector, Espio, Charmy, Big, Cream, Vanilla, etc. If that happens, makes me wonder how the GUN and the world would take it. Lol.

Edit: And seems time travel or Black Doom in disguise wasn't responsible for Dr. Gerald, he just apparently managed to live for very long.

Also fun fact: The Knuckles Sonic 2 prequel comic to the second film features Vector, Espio and Charmy as a cameo, so they exist in the movie universe.

She was still his granddaughter. I recall one of the guards saying something like “That’s the professor’s granddaughter, he takes her everywhere.” during her introduction scene where she meets Shadow

I meant to say Shadow. Not Gerald. Bad typing on my part.

Thinking of the Minecraft Movie concept that was Jason Mamoa using Minecraft to connect a nursing home or the terminally ill or something like that.

I can't remember if that was actually the og idea or I was making things up.

Ew. Why would you even get that film?
Likely for completion's sake.

Nobody likes Chicken Little, but people who collect the main-line DIsney movies probably still own it. Doubly goes for Wish. No-one likes a hole in their collections, regardless of quality.

Which is why it tears me up inside that they still haven't released Total Drama The Ridonculous Race on DVD...and will probably never release the recent seasons. I own all six prior seasons, even All-Stars, but RR is just "Something I Can Never Have"

I'm surprised physical media still exists. Stores are getting rid of them, Redbox went out of business, and corpos want peeps to go to streaming.
Physical media is always gonna have its fans, so I'm not surprised.

And I'm happy for that because I'll take physical over digital anyday. Physical you keep forever, digital you don't know how long it'll be there like on NetFlix.

In an ideal world, both would healthily co-exist.

Real-world things can ruin physical media, like disc scratches or getting lost, while like you said, digital media often has a timer on how long it's available.

Having a world where both could be successful industries would cover up both their weaknesses.
