Man I'm so disillusioned with Christmas this year.

So many customers flooding my workplace without face masks on in the middle of flu season, yelling and bumping into me because they're all in a rush to get in last minute shopping.

So much social pressure to buy everyone in my family expensive gifts with money I don't really have or run the risk of making them all think that I don't love them anymore. Bleh.

Gerald came off as a lot more heartless than what he's like in the games.
His "You're no Maria" comment to Eggman made the earlier "family bonding" montage a more cold edge than it already had.
To be fair to movie Gerald, he was alive for the past 50 years while his game counterpart was executed long before the events of Sonic Adventure 2.

I get the idea, showing that this is secretly what he's been like the whole time and was just manipulating Eggman, but I feel that when this twist gets revealed, there's 2 issues. 1: We never learn whether Gerald was a good guy before the tragedy which imo leta it hit less hard. 2: I think they should have had stopped making Gerald do any Jim Carrey hijinx after this twist gets revealed, it showcases just how much he manipulated Eggman and makes the two serve as a contrast in behaivour

I’m both excited and not excited for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s PC release. On one hand, I’ll finally get to play it and I really jived with part 1. On the other hand I know that there are going to be a lot more story changes than in part 1 and a lot more significant ones. As well as making this story into a multiverse story when it didn’t need to be.

I get that recreating/expanding on the original’s story wouldn’t be as fun for the developers. But like… the story is the original’s best part and imo, preserving it should have been top priority for this project. Maybe I’ll warm up to this stuff when I actually play it but for now, I’m skeptical and slightly disappointed.

The gameplay is still going to rock though. Part 1 had some of the best rpg combat ever and I desperately want more games that do what it does glares at FF16

I'm surprised you wanna even give it a shot, the open world stuff ended up exhausting me to the point I stopped playing some time after meeting Yuffie. I should fix that

Back from Sonic 3. I don't think it sets the world on fire, it's still a kids movie first and foremost, but it is definitely the best of the movies so far. I think my biggest nitpick is that it doesn't really have much as breathing room as I would like (it's technically 10 minutes shorter than Sonic 2). I think if they had had just one more scene of Shadow/Maria/Gerald together, I think it would have gone a long way.

Also the post credits were about what I've been expecting, but it was certainly executed in a way that caught me off-guard. I'm cautiously optimistic about the announced 4th film.

I really would have liked to have seen a scene of Gerald/Shadow/Maria together, aside from them running away from GUN together. I didn't really buy Gerald's "break-up" with his Grandson, especially after they spent most of the movie acting like BFFs. The "You're no Maria" line really didn't feel earned, as unlike Shadow, we never got to see what he was like prior to her death. I think it would have also made Shadow seem less like a Yes-Man to Gerald in following his orders.

Was slightly bummed that they threw in "Live and Learn" but only did it in snipits in-between the comedic fight between Eggman/Gerald. It was still epic and felt earned, but the dramatic shift in tone every couple seconds felt like they couldn't effort to use the full song or something. I thought I heard a small snipit of "Escape from the City" when they jumped out of the helicopter. I don't recall hearing Eggman's SA2 Theme though.

The Super Sonic/Super Shadow fight was short, but easily the closest we might ever get to a proper live-action Dragon Ball Z fight on the big screen. lol

After Sonic gave one of his quill's to Eggman in the Trailer, I really thought they were going to have Eggman use Sonic's quill to power up a Metal Sonic reveal; but no, he "died" and there was an army of Metal Sonics.

I assume that they'll turn Metal Overlord into his own character independent of Eggman so the series can go on without/take a break from Jim Carrey, and have Amy Rose serve a similar role to Tails in the second movie to warn Sonic of a new threat. I assume Sonic Heroes will be the main inspriation, but I could also see elements of Sonic 06* being included if they wanted to throw in time travel/multiverse elements as a way to recast Eggman.

EDIT: I forgot that Sonic CD also had time travel. So maybe the Time Stones could be used instead, with the Metal Sonic army serving as Terminator stand-ins.

Would telling them that you're short on money right now and need to save up also be a potential concern?

Subrau Kimura is Franky's new voice actor. I mostly know him as Pesci from Jojo part 5 and Todo from Jujutsu Kaisen, I'll have to hear his take on Franky but I believe he will probably do a SUPER job.

Also they confirmed a new One Piece movie is in production which is not at all surprising

I feel like I'm the only person in the One Piece fanbase who thinks Franky's redesign isn't bad, it makes sense for his character and what he did during the timeskip. The only real problem is the default buzzcut but even then he can change his hair at will and does so regularly

Also is Subaru Kimura really that bad of a choice? I admit I don't watch a lot of anime and none of it is fresh in my memory so I legitimately don't know

Dude has a big thing for black culture but is actually pretty damn racist and keeps getting cast for characters like that. I get it that Japan may not have many black VAs, I only remember a handful of times I saw black Japanese actors, but to have someone who does blackface and mock African cultures doing all sorts of characters like that is kinda cringe
