Bayonetta is owned by SEGA and Bayonetta 1 was released a few years ago on Steam and PS4. I'm not thinking of her as a Nintendo Exclusive Fighter because I'm pretty sure she wouldn't need to be.

Also Bayonetta is violent. F-Zero isn't. I doubt Nintendo would want to have any of their characters heads torn off.

Considering I want 3 stricken from the cannon and don't really like her design from there, and she's a literal child in Origins, I'd be fine with her being only based on 1.

Besides, The rights might be a little bit more complicated then we could be imagining.

Who even is that on the right?

I've been talking a lot about Kaeloo recently, so allow me to explain.
On the right is Pretty, a character that was introduced in Kaeloo season 2. She's essentially the classic mean girly girl archetype as a funny rabbit who loves her phone and social media. She's like Heather from Total Drama in that her over-the-top bad attitude makes her funny - but what really puts her on top of the cast for me is that she's actually consistent 90% of the time. Everyone else is about as consistent as Jon Arbuckle's mashed potatoes, going from nice to mean back to nice on a regular basis, despite the fact that this show actually tries to keep some form of continuity (when the world isn't smashed into oblivion by a meteor...yes that happened), but with only a few exceptions, Pretty stayed true to herself - her nasty, rude self, but still, the consistency is STRONGLY appreciated. Helps she could often be genuinely funny when this show isn't being MORE deranged than normal.

But then in season 5 she apparently got offscreen character development and became an entirely different character basically??? She's nice now with a goofy ahh haircut and is just so...BLAND. I mean COME THE HECK ON, season 5 actually went to the trouble of introducing more new characters like Stumpy's sisters, so why they couldn't just relegate Pretty to a bit part like with Eugly and Olaf and make a NEW character rather than force offscreen development...or heck, DEVELOP HER CHARACTER ONSCREEN...is beyond me.

TL;DR: funny bunny was great until she wasn't anymore

I have no strong feelings towards Ruby Gillman, from the one trailer I watched it looks like a pretty average DreamWorks family movie. It doesn't look bad, I'm just not the target demographic

Also Mike I don't think comparisons to the Little Mermaid remake are as big a compliment as you think it is

Just had to make one last comment on this topic-

The mean girl trope has been overplayed to death. It's subversive because you'd expect a pretty person to be nice, but she's not! Wacky!

And I'm not saying no one can do anything interesting with it anymore (the *****-y older sister from Encanto is a more recent example of the trope done right) but it takes more than the most basic portrayal of these archetypes.

It's like how stupid sitcom dads were originally parodies of old school TV fathers who were always wise and had all the answers, but now they've become a trope themselves.
