Edgeguarding with blocks is harder than I thought, and even then sometimes the blocks disappear instantaneously. I'll have to practice really hard if I wanna try to GIMP people with it.

Standing Jab to F-Air works though, it's ****ing hilarious, free spike and drop an anvil to catch the double jump.

Heh, well playing with the character will get you an idea for how You feel about it and like it, not others' opinions, so to me it's better to try them out yourself. That said, I can still look at gameplay and tell if I'll like some parts. So far I'm not finding them fun enough to buy, but i'll give it more time.
hmmmm.. I mean that's not wrong or anything, but for me personally? It's not really an issue of Steve himself, but the pass as a whole. Like... I can understand people who bought the pass the moment it was revealed, but for me? I'm the kinda guy that meticulously goes through and reads every little detail down to the fine print, and with there still being 4 more fighters to go, with no idea who they are? I would just much rather wait until I know the rest of the characters before I take a step towards my card.

Bro there's no way we're gonna get a Steve emergency patch over a dirt block on the ledge lmao
Depends how much people complain about it. But it doesn't have to be emergency. Just till the next one.

I don't think it's gonna get nerfed man, I just don't see it happening. They've been keeping this a thing since at least mid-August based on the recording session, the Smash dev team and playtesters must be 100% okay with this.

This is just gonna be a "ah gottem ggs" moment, better recover high. :mybodyisreggie:

It's going to get nerfed. It's too big of an unbalance, when tethers are fine.

Well for now, enjoy your four-to-six months of Steve jank.

I heavily doubt it though, might as well make it disappear the moment you place it if you truly wanted to nerf it.

:ultvillager:, :ultpikachu:, :ultpichu:, :ultisabelle: , and :ulthero: are the characters with the top five best recoveries.

Am I wrong?

Most attacks with hitboxes should be fine in that situation. Dirt doesn't have a lot of HP, so it should just break to most attacks.

Palutena's warp is susceptible because it lacks a hitbox, which is honestly fine in my opinion since teleport recoveries are some of the best recoveries in the game. Besides, she can teleport directly onto stage which isn't ideal for her but still keeps it from being a free kill. If she's not too far out she can also delay her teleport until after the block is gone.

Anyway remember when the game wasn't even out yet and people wanted Meta Knight banned because of some untrue Twitter combos? Don't let cheeky twitter clips cause you to make pass judgement on things too quickly.

Did Sakurai say that if you do Legend Spirits without any spirits, you will get extra points?

Only a few up-bs have enough power to destroy a block I think. Obviously needs to be tested, but it takes a few hits to break them.

I noticed something cool. If you climb a ladder when you are Steve at :75M:, then it will make the Minecraft ladder noise.

They were so faithful, it is beautiful. Best reveal in all of Ultimate for me.

Rob can up b and up air to destroy blocks, so that character will be fine and not get gimped. I think.

Probably gonna do that tomorrow night, as everyone seems busy trying to learn the character and play the singleplayer content right now.
Makes sense. I finished the single player content, but I still have much to learn.

I am struggling to use his recovery properly, and I am not that great at placing blocks to gimp yet.

Yeah, same here. Just finished his Classic, but I wanna grind it for a good score like I did Inkling and my other mains.

Also need some time to learn the blocks, lol. They're quite weird, but fun.

To those who get the hang of Steve's recovery, tips please?

I tend to struggle on it a bit.
Use blocks in the air, they're good. You can jump off them. (if youre close enough to the stage)
minecart can help too.

If you're below then just remember to press up. you can practice gliding by going up and down with it til you get the trick, but he's much better at recovering horizontally than going up.
