The main villain in Paper Mario was a legitimately dangerous and smarter Bowser who managed to defeat Mario early on in the game.

The main villains in The Thousand Year Door were an alien empire trying to revive an evil shadow being, who herself disposes of the same alien overlord who revived her since two of her minions were manipulating him the entire time into thinking she would merely be under the command of whoever revived her. She also possesses Peach and threatens to take over the entire universe.

The main villains in Super Paper Mario were a tragic figure who wanted to destroy reality itself as a way to cope with losing the love of his life after believing she had died from a curse, his band of loyal minions who all had hearts of gold, and an evil jester who pretended to be his loyal minion only to betray him in the end and fuse with Luigi to become an abomination that would not only destroy all worlds but also rewrite reality itself into his own twisted image of perfection.

The main villains in the following Paper Mario games was Bowser again, except he apparently forgot he had any personality.

Hey, don’t forget a folded napkin who was butthurt because a Toad scribbled on him. Thus sparking his quest for paper colonization.

I just realized that Origami King was the onky post 2009 Mario RPG where Bowser WASN'T the main villian.

Not including the remakes.
TBH as much as I was making fun of current Mario earlier...

OK and Mario Strikers being resurrected, to me, looks like the Wahoomanati is losing its grip a bit and the old guard is coming back into power with Mario. Time will tell, of course, but the next PM and how Strikers turns out is gonna be very interesting to watch.

How are you people finding so many shinies? I havent seen a single one.
Just luck and/or shiny charm if you're playing normally.
But through the powers of hard resets, no autosave, mindless grinding, and mass outbreaks, it's possible to get around one shiny every 30-70 min if you're straight hunting for one.
