Back in my day, if we wanted a pet, we had to go out in the woods and wrestle with a wolf to tame if, and if we came back with only part of our face chewed off, it was a reason to celebrate.

Because A: it’s Pokémon and I gotta catch em all and B: I’m almost certain that they’re going to make it so that linking it with BDSP is gonna be the only way to get Arceus in that game (you can catch SHAYMIN and DARKRAI just in the game. Arceus is literally the only Gen 4 Pokémon you can’t get right now and he’s headlining his own title soon. Coincidence?)

I know, gen 5 the latest Best Gen™, which means gen 6 is next in line to be Best Gen™ and when that happens I will be happy. I will let the historians of the future know right now that I liked gen 6 before it was cool.
But gens 5, 7 and 8 will always be low points in the franchise for me.

Ah, I see.

Theoretically...Transferring could still be possible, but you'd have to look into it. MelonDS I believe is capable of emulated WiFi communications, but I don't know if it's advanced enough to be spoofed as an actual DS and communicate with the real deal yet.

But seriously, Gen 5's main attempt is that it was meant to be different. Completely original dex, a whole different typ of region, a hard focus on the story, more involved characters and a banger soundtrack make Gen 5 stand out above the rest. I'm not sure if you played B&W, but if you can get past the unique differences that made Gen 5 stand out, you're bound to have a good time.

Edit: of course, you can't go wrong with Black 2.

Gen 5 locking hard/easy mode the way they did was incredibly pointless and stupid, but honestly it's forgivable since Gen 5 is already at a satisfying difficulty level.

There's also they way level scaling works in that game. Since hard/easy just change the levels of rival pokemon, and since xp gained is based on their level, it dampens the effect somewhat.
