Basically BOTW but more anime, ya.

There's a few details that make it less of a BOTW clone though... it plays more like a MMORPG than an open world one.

even without EA stuff MMORPGS have existed for about the same amount of time and while most don't I've seen the odd gacha mechanic or two

And technically speaking TCG's are basically IRL gacha's in a way. Just a bit more on the ethical side of things because you don't have to run the gacha to get what you want; it's not 100% a gamble.

Like I said yesterday the game awards is a little over a week away. I’d be shocked if we got anything before then.

Plus Nintendo put pretty low effort in last year so making a trailer that goes “hey more nostalgia is on NSO! Go play these games you love now!”

Seems like an easy way to make publicity imo.
