It's kind of like saying you're more likely to die of COVID than to die in a school shooting, so you shouldn't worry about getting shot or whatever. (IDK the stats on that; it's just an example.)

The unfortunate thing is...many people don't understand the seriousness of the situation UNLESS it affects them directly or people closer to them. And when that happens DESPITE being warned time and time again that the pandemic won't end but that there's a way to be put under control, if they end up in the hospital or worse...they blame medical workers, that are under the most risk EVERY SINGLE DAY, for extended hours, barely any sleep, and with the constant anguish of the idea of having to stay away from their families to keep them safe or even losing their life for the sake of others...it's heartbreaking.
And then you remember most fairy tales are actually pretty tragic or morbid and Disney made them extremely kid friendly.

Now I realize how serious it is apparently. Why should I also feel bad if these idiots catch the virus like the one my uncle told me. If anything they deserve it as Trump did. What they deserve for putting others at risk.
The sooner the vaccines are available, the better.

Of course, but at this time where there is no such thing available, people should take quarantine seriously, there's no other way at the moment to prevent the spreading. I do feel bad for the people that unfortunately cannot work from home, like many people in Mexico, that as much as they would like to be safe at home they can't, we don't have help from the government. And well, I think this will make many realize that the biggest gift has always been being alive and healthy, and having people you love still around you. After seeing people I care affected or even gone because of this is something I would never wish anyone to go through.
