don’t go though the Spider-Man: No Way Home hashtag on Twitter if you don’t wanna see all the massive leaks that have been releasing for the past day now…

Wouldn’t You Like To Know?
Since Spooky Month culminates tomorrow, has anyone done/doing anything big to celebrate?

I’ve seen my fair share of horror this month. Just got out of the theater after seeing Halloween Kills in fact (don’t know why but those movies strike a nerve with me in a way no other Slashers can).

Scientists just made an amazing discovery.

Ice Age megafauna seems to have survived much more recently than previously believed. Seems the Wrangel Island mammoths weren't the last.

Though I don't exactly agree we still didn't play a part in their extinction. These were probably just smaller populations that just managed to thrive much longer.
I wish most ice age animals had survived us tbh. So many amazing animals that died basically because of us. Sucks so much.

Nothing too big. I saw The Nightmare Before Christmas for the first time And I'm still reeling from the fact that they brought in the friggin military what the hell and tomorrow I'm hanging out with some friends. It's been pretty chill with me.

Gonna watch Nightmare before Christmas, and read Night of the Were-Ed’s. My Halloween tradition.

Interesting. But I don't agree with their conclusion that it was solely the change in climate that caused the extinction of the mammoth steppe megafauna. Why didn't prior interglacials kill them off? I believe that, while the change in climate certainly caused the steppe to grow smaller, and the numbers of its residents to decrease, the ecosystem wouldn't have completely collapsed if it wasn't for human pressures. I also think similarly of the mass extinctions of the Pleistocene megafauna of Australia, the Americas, Madagascar etc.

I find the paleobiota of this period incredibly fascinating. What a shame.

So I went to that Halloween party that my friend was hosting

Everyone in my main IRL friend circle was there, we ate some pretty delicious food, drank some wine, ate the brownies I made which turned out to be a success, and watched a presentation one of my (non-Pokémon fan) friends made about which Pokémon are Kosher and which aren't, which was actually really well researched and sparked interesting discussions

My friends went home one by one until only I stayed. I was planning on going after finishing my tea but I was too absorbed in the conversation I had with my friend about writing and characters, and she actually gave me some really great tips despite being almost as insecure about her writing as I am. I went home really late but I had fun. And with that, g'night m'gamers

Finished Pokémon Y. Here's the final run summary:

The new bloodiest run, surpassing Platinum by 8. This game is actually really challenging because the encounters you get most times are...trash. This game is low key a trashlocke and it really shows in the late to endgame, where you simply don't have the strength and diversity to keep up with the challenges thrown at you.

Regardless, I had a good time with it. Kalos is a fun region to go through, even if it's brimming with untapped potential. Really wish there'd been a Z or X2Y2 as there was supposed to be, but alas. Next up is another trip to Hoenn in Alpha Sapphire. Should also be fun because I'm limited in my options given the large amount of bans I've made.

The past few weeks, my computer has been incredibly slow and I have no clue why. And apparently ONLY NOW is my antivirus telling me that I've had five viruses for ages and they can't fix it cause I haven't renewed my subscription.

Lovely. :4pacman:

Reckon I might see if I can do contracts in TF2 in single-player games later. IIRC, you can still do so without jumping into Casual. I like to load up any map I haven't been on and load it up with tf_bots for practice.
