Smash Steve might be the best or worst Minecrafter of all time.

This man is going into an all out brawl, with nothing but wooden tools and no armor. He breaks the golden rule of the Smash, which is never dig straight down, and he never brings any backup tools nor ways of lighting such as torches. He has iron to make minecarts and anvils, but can't spend that to make iron armor which takes less iron to do. He lets the lava bucket touch his feet, which should burn him, and he for some ungodly reason thinks a Magma Block is a cool item to have.

But despite all that, he managed to beat the Ender Dragon given that he has an Elytra, so... he could be the best with all considered.

F-Zero didn't exactly offer a lot of material for Falcon's moveset anyway and damn near all of it was completely made up, so I think it's pretty understandable why he's been the sole rep.

I was predicting Steve, I had the whole thing pinned down (I was pretty sure they were saving the full Sakurai presents for Minecon, which was the case).

I was still shocked, because none of my crazy theories had came true. Arle Nadja wasn't FP5, Lycanroc wasn't the Gen 7 rep, etc. I'm so used to being wrong, that being right was even more shocking.

I love how his naysayers biggest issue was that they wouldn't be able to animate him properly and make him work, and then in Smash, they basically just recreated the stilted animations out of Minecraft and did some minor touch ups on them.

Another Fan Rule bites the dust. How many are we on, like 15?

I dunno if that was as much of an actual fan rule as much as it was

It was a fan rule, because I remember that people brought up G&W as reasons why animation doesn't matter, and the people said that Steve isn't the same for arbitrary bull**** or something

Wasn't that people ******** how he didn't aesthetically fit in? I remember the newcomer thread being filled with "Ew, he looks horrible compared to everyone else." and people bringing up G&W as a counter argument.

So how much influence do you guys think the Fighters Ballot from years back had on the DLC for Ultimate?

It definitely is why Banjo got in, but do you guys think that other characters got in because of hiw well they did on the pass as well?

I wouldn't be surprised if Hero (Erdrich specifically) did at least decently well on the ballot given Dragon Quest's popularity.

Steve is also possibly influenced by the ballot because the craftymines has those numbers, and I wonder how many of those little timmies and suzies that don't participate in speculation discussion voted for him because they like minecraft. And given the fact we know that he was planned to be added to Smash for quite some time.

Seeing another popular ballot request is definitely possible. Crash? Geno? Sora?

Steve was also a pretty popular meme pick during the ballot, alongside the likes of Shrek and Freddy Fazbear.

I wonder if the people that ironically voted him inadvertently helped him in for real lol

I remember that argument and other dumb arguments/assertions (like people just asserting he’s going to be a mii costume and nothing more as if they can see the future, even when it wasn’t relevant or didn’t make sense as a response to what you were saying). “He’d be like Link or Villager,” “Master Chief would be a priority, Steve won’t get in before him,” “Steve is indie and indies can’t be playable” (no real proof and he’s not indie anymore anyway...?), “he’s just a meme pick” (why do y’all think he has memes in the first place...?), and a lot of arguments that were basically “this is my opinion and my opinion is so superior it’s basically fact and Sakurai is definitely going to agree.”

I was tempted to really rub it in people’s faces ngl.

I think Banjo-Kazooie is the only ballot pick out of the two Fighter Passes.

One thing about FNAF is the memes are just funny, and I haven't even played FNAF.

Like, "IS THAT THE BITE OF 87?" is hilarious to me. To be fair, Markiplier is just hilarious at general.

Also, "PURPLE GUUAAAAHHHYYYY!!!!".

So if Freddy gets in Smash, the FNAF memes are going to be wild.

If Freddy Fazbear gets in Smash via in any way (Doesn't have to be a character), I will have Markiplier as my avatar for six months.
