Which was your favorite new Pokémon revealed from the Scarlet and Violet trailer?

I went to bed a little early last night so I could wake up early and get some stuff done before work, only to sleep for 10 hours and wake up with a headache.

Now that we know a little more about SMT V demons, I want to speculate a little about the cover demons before I go into full spoiler embargo.

First of all, Amanozako, a Japanese rebellion goddess and the mother of various monsters. She's the companion to the protagonist and will likely follow you regardless of the choices you make. They hinted that she's not all that she's seen so it wouldn't surprise me if she actually represents a True route or gains a new form through the story. Due to her nature, she may also represent rejecting the conventional routes and creating your own. She's also born from Susano-o, who some people speculate is the true name of Aogami, the protagonist's deity half. It's not a theory I buy into but it's worth keeping in mind.

Nüwa is a Chinese mother goddess who's credited for creating humans. She seems to be an antagonistic force, hopefully not to a "China bad" extend like SMT IV sometimes was. If I have to hazard a guess, I say she wants to use Da'at to create a new human race, so she might not be fully evil and may just be wanting to use her human companion to help her in this cause. They can either make her a standard villain or a really convincing faction leader. She seems like a Chaos character but might also be Neutral.

Hayataro is another Japanese figure, this time a dog famous for killing demons. He partners with one of the protagonist's friends, Yuzuru. Ngl, they both seem pretty standard Law types so I don't expect too many surprises from them but... if they go with a "kill all demons to protect our friends" route, it can lead to a more solitary, tribalistic route which is more common in Chaos factions. So, they're either Law or a weird third option. Worth noting that Hayataro is voiced by Jouji Nakata who's most well-known for voicing bad guys or characters with dark pasts so it may lead to something. Probably not, though.

Abdiel is a Christian angel who actually isn't a canonical one but one that originates from Paradise Lost where among other things, she smited demons like Satan and Arioch. Her name means "Servant of God" and she's known to be a zealous follower of God. Seeing how she acts in the trailers, they got this part right. Seeing how God is most likely dead, she seems to dedicated her loyalty to Bethel instead. Possibly linked to Hayao Koshimizu, Bethel's coordinator. She's definitely this game's "Lawful to fault" type but it will be interesting how they'll handle her brutality.

Then there is the greed demon who we don't know anything about yet but is most definitely Ptah, an Egyptian creator patron god of craftsmen. I'm just speculating but I wouldn't be surprised if he's a contrast to Nüwa, another creator deity. He created the world through the power of speech so he definitely has a motivation to form a new world out of Da'at. I won't speculate on his alignment because of how little we know about him. In mythology, he's associated with stability, life, and power, and symbols of a pharaoh so he'll probably side with a character who wants to be a benevolent ruler and takes the side of the humans.

So far, the only unambiguously Chaotic demon we saw is the unnamed tentacle monster whose parts can also be seen on the cover. I won't speculate on its identity. Most people think that it's a Lovecraftian deity but it wouldn't surprise me if it's a Christian demon.

And then there's Nahobino, or more specifically, he's Aogami half. Aogami is the most mysterious figure in the game because he has a Japanese game but there's no Shinto god who bears the epithet "blue god". So, here's my theory: Aogami is not a Shinto deity, but a Hindu/Buddhist one. Nahobino performs skills by mudras, symbolic hand seals in Buddhism and Hinduism. Aogami's chest also bears a mark that resembles a Sanskrit character, specifically Siddham script, which was later adopted into some forms of Japanese writing. So, he seems to be a figure who was initially an Indian figure but then adopted by Japan through Buddhism. It might be a stretch but my prediction is that he's Bichūten, the Buddha form of Vishnu (who's also known to be a blue god).

Also, all of their designs are bangers.

I think the identity of eldritch face demon was already revealed when they revealed some of the main characters. In a video, it's tagged a Lhamu iirc, which would be Mesopotamia iirc.

Oh, that's interesting. iirc, Lahmu means "hairy one", so its tentacles are likely actually his beard and hair. I may need to do some reading on him before doing any more theory crafting.

Since King Shark has gotten his own comic series. I'd love for a King Shark and Killer Croc comic series. Just two apex predators and closest to a buddy film we'd have between a shark and crocodile.


Kinda got this idea from over a cartoon I thought of involving two best friends a great white and a saltie who both works as undercover cops investigating crimes along with their friendly rivals of the same police department an American alligator and hammerhead.

If people don't want it as a Banjo game fine, maybe they could do another meta narrative with a franchise no one cares about, like Grabbed the Ghoulies. It'd make sense considering all the references to it in game. Call it Grabbed by the Nuts... and Bolts.

I thought a neat way to do it would be as a Rare crossover. A bunch of characters from a bunch of Rare properties competing against each other.

Would the crocodile and shark use police disguises to blend in and not get exposed by humans?
(If there was a cartoon, I can picture this)

My idea is it'd be more like one of those cartoons where talking animals co-exist with humans. Think We Bare Bears, Bojack Horseman, and such.
