Yeah, they both almost died that fight, though in Goku's case it was mostly because of the Kiaoken doing a number, where Vegeta nearly died after the Spirit Bomb doing a number on him. However, one could argue that Nappa killing 4 of the Z-Fighters could have changed the outcome of that fight.

Vegeta definitly was a crazy mothertrucker before,. Dude could take & deal alot of **** because the power levels weren't too crazy back then, atleast, compared to what it eventually become.

Didn't Akira back then put power levels as a joke? Like to show how useless trying to read power levels via scouters really are when peoples can just hide their powers & power-up when they feel like it?
I mean, Power Levels were always useless given that these big bad 1m power levels still lost to the power of family and friendship. Even Krillin, who was definitely the weakest of the Saiyan and Namek arcs, was able to actually inflict some damage against characters seemingly out of his league when it came to protecting Gohan.

What I find interesting about the Android Saga is that a good part of it didn't involve the saiyans: a huge chunk if it revolved around Piccolo, Krillin, the titular androids with some aspects of Vegeta. Goku was out, Gohan didn't get his development until near the end, Trunks was just an exposition dump until Cell arrived, and everyone else was useless.

I don't know the abstraction of your case, but I'm sorry that happened to you. I think with my time of the old FGC arcades, post SRK to the mid 2000s, there were uncomfortable times for me, because your situation have me reflecting on people that would relentlessly mock me for personal gratification and being different. It was clown show, with the overly masculine old guard, and basement dwelling mentality.

What’s crowd chant theory?
The theory that the remaining character won’t have names that are different in other languages, because then they’d have to record different crowd cheers for each version. Because of COVID restrictions or something.
