OK. Tell me if this idea is overpowered or not. I've been thinking about Crash in Smash wile playing Crash 4 and it game me an idea.
Normally. Crash's Down Special is "Super Aku Aku". Aku Aku is always floating behind you, and triggering this move causes him to rotate around you once. If hit in this state, Aku Aku parries the attack and launches the opponant away. Way more knockback then damage. But if you hold the button instead of tapping it, it brings up a wheel allowing you to select one of the four Quantum Masks which changes the nature of the counter.
Equipping Kapuna-Wa essentially gives Crash Bayonetta's Witch Time, except he hops over the opponent instead of flipping away and any opponent, assist tropy, or item that's within a small radius around the opponent is also effected.
Lani-Loli lets crash phase through the opponent to escape their attack. However there is no automatic follow up attack, he just moves. And you can't attack until you phase shift back. The time this takes would only really matter to high level competitive players, no casual would ever even notice.
Akano changes it into the dark matter charged power spin attack. This does damage to opponents that touch it, but only those who go out of their way to touch it. It can reflect projectiles though. Just like in Crash 4.
And Ika-Ika temporarily flips the opponent's gravity. You wouldn't be able to KO with it unless you were extremely close to the blast line though because it doesn't last long and it's duration decreases the higher up you are.
